Favorite airport?

Featured Replies

So, it's vacation season again, and I thought I'd see what everyone's favorite place to fly to and from is. I actually like airports I think they're really interesting.

My faves

1.) Minneapolis-St. Paul: always really clean, friendly people, good food court and very easy to find your way around

2.) Detroit: That's mostly due to Acid Trip Tunnel that makes me think I'm in Disney world or that someone put something in my drink.

The worst:

1.) Dallas: confusing, irritating, and just general crappiness

3.) Gatwick: dirty, rude people, and kinda gross

Last time I was in KC I thought theirs was excellent

O'Hare because it means I'm home

You liked Detroits airport Soxy? By the time I got out of there I was ready to blow that place up...

Damn I don't know if I have a favorite... MDW was easy to get in and out of, but supposedly has gotten bad. DFW I did like, but it was freakin huge. ORD is a disaster.

Dallas is either really good or really bad. There's usually not an in between.

Personally, I like DFW but I know it probably better then any other airport in the country.

Boston SUCKS. So does Newark.

LAX, meh, it's ok, but I've only been there once.

IAH is pretty good.

MIA is nuts. Watch your crap when you walk around there.

MCO (Orlando) is pretty cool.

Man, if I had to list all the airports I've been to... it'd take me a page.

Detroit was the worst airport in the country before the renovations. Now it's not so bad.

Anyway... enough about that, huh?

Yeah, I liked the train thinger, I thought it was kinda neat, it was reasonably clean. And teh Acid Tunnel of Love was pretty awesome. Did you go after all the renovations? I'd never been there before them, so I don't know how bad it was....

o'hare- love it means im home back in chi town

Lax- not bad been there a few times

newark- fast lines for everything

lga-ack slow slow slow

jfk- only been there for when flying to israel as a connection. so not bad

orlando- love it in the winter when i was younger in the winter and if the magic where on a road trip shaq would stay and sign autographs. thats a memory i will never forget.

ben guiren in tel aviv- nice, clean, and the people r nice.

bwi- been there once

regan national- been there once

midway-always try to avoid it

Atlanta is awesome; even though it's big it's easy to get around. Salt Lake is pretty nice. Philadelphia's hallways (is that what you call them?) are too narrow, but it has a lot of stores and restaurants. LAX is weird cause it's all sectioned off, I don't think I like that. Hartford is nice enough, no real complaints there. I don't even remember much about Oakland, except that finding everything was confusing as hell. They had all these sectioned off areas and if you accidentally left one you had to go through the metal detectors all over again. It made no sense.

O'Hare and Midway. Seriously, I love O'Hare's and I think Midway's stepped up their game.

ohare is amazing

i like tampa bays

new yorks airports are fine

LA has a good one

Colorados is good

Boston sucks

cant remember others

I've been to O'Hare, San Diego, Brownsville, Houston (as a layover...I think it was Houston lol) and Midway. All are okay, but I think San Diego was my favorite.

Sacramento has a nice airport.

I like what they've done in Vegas.

I like what they've done in Vegas.

Vegas was nice. Easy in, easy out, no problems.

Love O'Hare.

As for the others, both St. Lake and Denver had gourgeous airports. I've never really had any problems anywhere but Tampa.

Austin's airport is awesome...they don't have any national chains (except Schlotzky's, which is based in Austin), great food, local music IN THE TERMINAL!!!

Others, O'Hare isn't bad once you're in it.

DFW is fine, as long as you know where you're going.

Providence is nice and small.

Orlando

Las Vegas

Portland

Vancouver (beautliful to fly in and out of)

San Francisco

LGA...not so good.

LAX...not so good.

Denver...too damn far from anything.

Seattle...meh.

Vancouver (too long to get thru lines)

ORD - International Terminal is the best designed airport terminal I've ever used. The others are terrible.

MDW - OK, nothing special.

GRR - Nice, quick, easy to use.

FNT - Fisher Priceish.

DTW - Customs makes me think I'm in a third world marketplace

JFK - Large and comfortable.

ATL - Nice to transfer, and that's it.

HOU - Awful awful awful

BOS - See Houston

PHL - Easy to use, not a very comfortable place for a three hour delay.

LHR - Nice place, lots to do. Still not worth an 8 hour layover.

STN - Big airport, you walk forever to get anywhere.

AMS - Huge airport, has a casino.

TXL - Cramped. Neat design but overused.

CDG - It was pretty and useful for 1968 type air traffic. Not for 2005.

CPH - Nice, but when you're stuck for a long delay - boring. Not a single television anywhere.

I like Casablanca's airport. That place was amazing. They had gold lined walls with cascading water from ceiling to floor. I was shocked to see that.

 the acid tunnel of love.

I've been there and it is pretty cool.

I've only been to

the 2 chitown ones, detroit, and london, ontario. The london one had 5 gates, and about 1 plane taking off every hour.

Portland, ME has a real nice airport.

Correction, its a jetport.

One more to add--

Schiphol (sp?) in Amsterdam. Easy, clear layout, clean, good shopping, and mass transit all without having to leave the building. Love it.

Schiphol - AMS. Theres a casino there.

Indy easy in and out.

Correction, its a jetport.

Portland you are referring to?

So that's why I have to fly in those little s*** express planes...

I like O'hare and Seattle's aiport.

I hate Atlanta, every time I've transfered through there I'm delayed.

I also dont like Southwest Florida International Airport. It is one of the most boring airports I've ever been to. They are building a brand new concourse that is going to open this year so I'm hoping that one is going to be awesome.
