August 7, 200520 yr "That's how bad we're hitting -- we've got Joe Crede as the DH," manager Ozzie Guillen said before the game. "I was making fun of myself. I was like, 'Wow, how bad are we when we've got Crede as the DH?" LOL, I wonder how Joe feels about that comment.
August 7, 200520 yr QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 02:37 PM) LOL, I wonder how Joe feels about that comment. Im thinking he found it kind of funny
August 7, 200520 yr QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 08:37 AM) LOL, I wonder how Joe feels about that comment. I was thinking the same thing when I heard it! He was laughing real hard when he said it also! :headshake
August 7, 200520 yr It was hilarous, they kept playing the soundbite on the Score. Ozzie was laughing his ass off. From what I hear, Joe is one of the funnier guys in the clubhouse, so I don't see it being a problem.
August 7, 200520 yr yeah im pretty sure crede will take it in stride...leave it to ozzie to keep things light in the clubhouse though...especially with the rough stretch coming up.
August 7, 200520 yr I think Crede knows he doesn't have a career as a DH. Now when Ozzie bats Garland and DHs for Crede, then Joe may have a b****.
August 7, 200520 yr If I were Crede I wouldn't take it personal. Whenever people rag on me about something I know im not that good at I join in and make fun of myself. I highly doubt Crede took that offensive if he is supposed to be a funny guy in the clubhouse. I am glad Ozzie realizes that having him DH is f***ed up though.
August 7, 200520 yr I'm sure Crede realizes he's a s***ty hitter. It feels like the guy's having a career year, and he's batting .248.
August 7, 200520 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) I'm sure Crede realizes he's a s***ty hitter. It feels like the guy's having a career year, and he's batting .248. Ouch. Even though Crede isn't all that great with the bat all of us realized how important he is when he went down and we had Ozuna there. Crede has saved the sox a lot of runs out there with his glove and once I realized that I am ok with him. I can't really think of anyone who could replace him that wouldn't cost us much talent or money wise.

August 7, 200520 yr When they put the lineups up at the Cell I was thinking, "WTF does Crede bring to the table as a DH..." Gotta love Ozzie.

August 7, 200520 yr QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 10:34 AM) Which is why I said s***ty hitter. Not player, not defender, but hitter. You don't have to put it italicized like I didn't see your point im not a moron, I was just adding my thoughts. I was actually 2nding your point but adding to it. :banghead
August 7, 200520 yr I remember catching the game in the second inning, and noticed both Blum and Crede were at bat, and Uribe WAS playing SS, and Iguchi at second, so I was thinking "Where the hell is Blum?" Then I noticed Blum was at third, so then I was like..... O___o Where is Crede then? Then Crede came up and it said DH, and I was like...... O___o
August 7, 200520 yr Speaking of interesting quotes, in today's trib Paulie was asked about last night's win, He said "typical game for us, great pitching, great defense and no offense."
August 7, 200520 yr Buehrle saved another [run] when he deflected a line drive by Sexson -- a shot that knocked the glove off the pitcher's right hand. Buehrle threw out Sexson and stuck out Beltre to end the inning. "Any time I get a ball up the middle, I just try to knock it down and keep it on the infield," Buehrle said. Moyer called it "self defense" and said, "you can determine whether it was the best play of the game." Sexson called it "the horseshoe effect. He and the whole White Sox team have luck going for them right now." Yeah, over four months straight of luck. That's a nice run.
August 7, 200520 yr Sexson called it "the horseshoe effect. He and the whole White Sox team have luck going for them right now." :headshake Hopefully the sox heard this and give Garland an easy victory today. :fyou Edited August 7, 200520 yr by Sox Hustler
August 7, 200520 yr QUOTE(Spiff @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 01:19 PM) Yeah, over four months straight of luck. That's a nice run. LOL! Just thinking that myself!
August 7, 200520 yr Oh, I just wanted to add something. I'm sorry your team is one of the worst in baseball, Richie Sexson. They'll be that way for a few more years.
August 8, 200520 yr Meh, let everybody keep saying we are lucky and underestimate us. The less seriously they take us, the easier it will be for us to pounce on them. And as for the quote about Crede, Crede doesn't care in all likelihood. I hate to say it like this, but it's just "Ozzie being Ozzie". Edited August 8, 200520 yr by whitesoxfan101
August 8, 200520 yr When you're 34 games above .500 and 13 games up on 2nd place...yeah, Crede probably thought it was funny.
