September 17, 200520 yr This is for El Duque tomorrow... Doo doo doo doooo Doo doo doo doooo Doo doo doo doooo Aaahhh Aaahhh Where have all the good men gone And where are all the gods? Where’s the street-wise Hercules To fight the rising odds? Isn’t there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need I need a hero I'm holding out for at hero 'till the end of the night He's gotta be strong And he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light He’s gotta be sure And it’s gotta be soon And he’s gotta be larger than life Lager than life Doo doo doo doooo Doo doo doo doooo Doo doo doo doooo Aaahhh Aaahhh Somewhere after midnight In my wildest fantasy Somewhere just beyond my reach There’s someone reaching back for me Racing on the thunder and rising with the heat It’s gonna take a superman to sweep me off my feet I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night He's gotta be strong And he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I’m holding out for a hero 'till the morning light He’s gotta be sure And it’s gotta be soon And he’s gotta be larger than life I need a hero I'm holding out for at hero 'till the the end of the night --------- Up where the mountains meet the heavens above Out where the lightning splits the sea I could swear there is someone somewhere Watching me Through the wind and the chill and the rain And the storm and the flood I can feel his approach Like a fire in my blood I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night He’s gotta be strong And he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light He's gotta be sure And it's gotta be soon And he's gotta be larger than life I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night He's gotta be strong And he's gotta be fast And he's gotta be fresh from the fight I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'till the morning light He's gotta be sure And he's gotta be soon And he's gotta be larger than life I need a hero I'm holding out for a hero 'till the end of the night
September 17, 200520 yr Right now I don't care what any stats say, they have to go out there and play like they are capable. Big Jon stepped up now its time for the rest to. I am rooting for Duque tomorrow but he doesn't have much of a chance with Johan on the mound, hopefully that changes with whats at stake right now.
September 17, 200520 yr Jon Garland f***ing stepped up tonight. 9/16, 200IP thus far, and he throws a 123 pitch near shutout. Jon, stepping up like our pitchers need to, setting the bar for the rest of the rotation for the rest of the season. Bobby muthaf***in' Jenks. Huge. Twins announcers were being dumb, questioning Oz's decision to leave Jenks in the game. I believe it was more wishful thinking on their part. There is NO ONE, including injured Herme, who I want to see on the mound in the 9th inning. That boy flat out dominates the opposition and, as a rookie, has the swagger and mentality necessary to close out ballgames. Oz, I hope this means you know like we do that we have a new closer. Marte stepped up and proved his critics (teamates, manager, coaches, and fans) all wrong, looking damn sharp out there. Oz gave him put a lil' somethin' extra behind that ass pattin', as if to let Marte know that if he pitches like that, he's going to be okay. Offense, well.....get em' tomorrow. f*** minnesota and their "rooting for a sox collapse" announcers. :finger
September 17, 200520 yr QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) f*** minnesota and their "rooting for a sox collapse" announcers. :finger Torii Hunter is rooting for us if we make it.
September 17, 200520 yr QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 03:26 AM) Torii Hunter is rooting for us if we make it. hadn't heard that, Torii's more of a man than I. I refused to root for the twinks the past 3 seasons. While Torii may feel that way, their broadcast was sickening between the Bert Circle Jerks and the drool hitting the mics when they discussed "the biggest collapse in sports history".
September 17, 200520 yr QUOTE(3E8 @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 10:26 PM) Torii Hunter is rooting for us if we make it. Yea, and he's also hoping that Cleveland catches us. QUOTE(mmmmmbeeer @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) I refused to root for the twinks the past 3 seasons. yea, they brought that up when Hunter said that. Edited September 17, 200520 yr by Felix

September 17, 200520 yr Let's sweep these f***s to eliminate them from the division title race (EN=3)
September 17, 200520 yr QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Sep 16, 2005 -> 09:48 PM) Let's sweep these f***s to eliminate them from the division title race (EN=3) In the dome too, which would be sweet.
September 17, 200520 yr I'm not going to lie, when I saw the final score and (maybe) recaps at the bar tonight, I kissed my best girl friend on the lips. I was sooooooo happy it honestly made my darn night (and we both got a free drink). HELL YEAH!!!!!!!
September 17, 200520 yr No question our formula is when we get dominant pitching and defense we usually win (first half formula). Though tonight we may have lucked out a bit. Hopefully the luck will start to turn.

September 17, 200520 yr I was so happy after that win I discovered that Soxtalk has a limited number of emoticons allowed per post.
September 17, 200520 yr I can't come up with the words to describe how big this win was. Especially when you consider there's a pretty good chance we lose Saturday.

September 17, 200520 yr QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 17, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) what bar were you at? Um, that's the really embarressing part. But, for the record, I did NOT pick it. . . The Belmar. Feel free to mock me.
