Q-After wanting the Sox to win for so long and to have them come through

and make this the best winter ever ... somebody asked me if I'd be as much a

fanatic next season and seasons to come.

I ask you the same question. Will you "want it as much" next year?

Will you sweat out every game as you probably did this year?

Be mad at baserunning blunders when we lose or if Garland walks 7 in 3

innings?

Or if Marte walks two guys and we lose the opener, 7-6?

 

Will you be AS passionate as before now that we've won the crown is

all I'm asking?

i'll still be as passionate as always. I'll still make this team my life for 6 months out of the year. I can't imagine summer without the white sox being the best part of the day.

The one difference will be, if we fail, i will be able to shrug it off a hell of a lot easier.

It's impossible to want the next one as much as I wanted this one.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm actually satisfied.

I want the Sox to be competitive, to be in the running, but I am so relieved and happy to have seen what just happened, that if they fall off a little bit I can't imagine being too down on them.

Somehow in my mind, breaking an 88-year drought buys you a couple years of a "free pass".

Fire on me if you wish, I don't care. The Sox gave me something my grandparents never had, so I'm okay for now.

I can't say I would want the next one more than the one we just had. But I think I want it just as bad. I'm a greedy mofo. I don't want the Sox to be one of those team's that wins it and you never hear from them again. I want us to be in position to contend every year. With that said, it won't hurt nearly as much if we didn't win it next year, the year after that or the year after that.

I agree for the most part. As a Bulls fan (that remembers the first three peat was too young to really appreciate it) the first title of the second three peat was by far the sweetest and while the other two were great they just didn't give me quite the same feeling. The only way I would enjoy or want a WS title as much as this one is if we are playing the Cubs.

I think its probably more gratifying ( or at least it would seem more real) to win it all with expectations. The expectations of third place are a big reason why some of us (me included) are struggling to believe it happened. I think goign in with high hopes and seeing them realized would be very special. Maybe it wouldn't be as exhilarating but we might want it just bad enough because we wouldn't have that part of us waiting for the other show to drop

When you lost your virginity, did you want some more?

I can guarantee that I will be just as into it next year as this year. It was AWESOME winning this, don't get me wrong, but I don't think that this team is done yet. I think that what they built can either win some more or is at least set to contend for a while. That will be the fun part. I don't want to win this once and fade either.

 

Hell, as it stands now, I can't wait for spring training to start!

 

Nothing will ever top this one.

I can finally put to rest the idea that I'd never see the Sox win it. I know that's kind of sad, being I've only been a fan for approximately 15 years. It is nice being able to realize that I can forget about that worry.

 

With that being said, the Sox are the team I live and die with the most. Once the season starts, I'll be just as hungry to see this team do it again and again and again.

For the 1st few months, I can really see myself saying after a loss,"well, they did win the World Series....." but thats going to get old at some point. By June, yes, I will be living and dying by every pitch again.

 

Exactly. I fully expect Fire Kenny, Sell the team Jerry, trade Contreras, add Griffey and so many other shouts to be belted again. There is nothing wrong with that is what the heat of the season is all about. Perspective is for these cold months.

I want the next one more than I wanted the first one. Let's not get complacent. Let's start a f***ing dynasty on the South Side circa '96 Yankees.

 

I would love nothing more than to win another won...and maybe another one.

Greasy, I'm in trouble if the Colts and Pacers win this year. I have to turn off sports forever if the Sox, Pacers, Colts, and either Dallas or Nashville wins the Stanley Cup all in the same year.

We cannot become complacent like the Braves or Marlins where they can't even sell out NLCS games.

I was thinking this has the potential to be one hell of a calendar year with the teams I root for.

 

The Sox took care of business. The Colts are 7-0 (as of right now), the Pacers are very solid, and the Hoosiers look to finally be "back" in terms of basketball.

I definitely want it as much. Yes, this season was magical because no one thought the Sox would be there (except the loyal fans).

 

Next year it is a whole new twist. The Sox are the champs that everyone is trying to knock off. Also, a repeat is a huge achievement in this era of baseball, unless you are the Yankees and you just buy them.

 

I actually cannot wait for the 2006 season to start. I am more excited for opening day next year as I was this year.

With the sox winning it, i could have the rest of my teams lose for the next 5 years and i wouldn't say a damn thing.

 

Too bad, that's semi-realistic for our football team.

I would like to say that I will now be able to shift my focus onto more important things at the expense of the White Sox, now that the 'seemingly impossible' has occured.................... but addictions don't work that way. I imagine I will want them to win just as much next year ...................... the difference will be not the thrill of winning, but the pain of losing. It won't be as great as in the past.

Man, you just don't get years like this one.

This question is almost rheotrical to me. The reason you get up to play baseball is to win the World Series. Hell yeah I want this one just as much. IMO, The Sox have the ability to be perennial contenders/play-off teams like the Braves, Yankees, Red Sox, and Angels.

Man, you just don't get years like this one.
