November 30, 200520 yr What could be better in the world of White Sox.... Sox are world champs. PK has resigned. We've acquired Thome. We have a killer staff. Let's get spring training started now.
November 30, 200520 yr PK says the deal is straight and no funny clauses or deferred money is involved.
November 30, 200520 yr QUOTE(Steff @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:01 PM) Just a tad bit cockey about the hip situation... :rolly Sounded to me like he wants to get it out of the way so he doens't have to go through it everyday that he has a bad day or if he's in a slump.
November 30, 200520 yr It was a hard process. harder than he thought it would be. He got all his info, made his decision as soon as possible cuz he didn't want to wait. His heart told him to stay in Chicago. The Thome move was huge for him. The best thing they could have done for him. He wanted to see KW do something to help the team. When KW got Thome so quickly it helped him decide to stay. Thome calling him really helped. "He's a monster." The Sox were proactive and that impressed him. He expects to be better at 34 than he is now. There could be more things ahead in the offseason. He was born with the hips that he has. They are...different. They never gave him problems before. Winning a World Series doesn't make him complacent. He will still "beat himself up". He's "driven". They called him classy for giving JR the World Series ball at the rally. He said it wasn't a planned thing with his agent. He wants to repeat. Edited November 30, 200520 yr by knightni

November 30, 200520 yr Thanks for the updates.. Glad to see 14 back.. I wonder if we are going to be able to hear anything when they annouce starting line-ups on opening day?
November 30, 200520 yr Paulie is the perfect combo..... a great guy who is extremely arrogant about his ability to play baseball. Man I'm glad he's coming back for the next several years.
November 30, 200520 yr I had a dream about this last night...dreams do come true! Let's win one for Thome!
