This poll indicates two things:

1. I'm procrastinating on my 20-page Anthropology paper.

2. I'm anxiously awaiting KW's next big move.

haha, i going to go on a limb and say tejada since things seem to be heating up and i personally dont like blalock (tho dont have a problem with the trade for him), and id Love tejada on the team.

I wouldnt say it's heating up, just being speculated as our many other things. I say Blalock is the most likely thing but I really have no clue with kenny at the helm.

Garland & Crede for Blalock & pitching prospect(s) is the most likely move, IMO.

I voted for the best option (this poll IS confusing and my eyes DO hurt), but I think his next move will be to get Abreu or Crawford.

nothing will heat up until vasquez to chicago is offical. So everyone calm down for moment

Which would happen tomorrow.

Actually I take that back once thats finalized which could be tommrrow and my gut feeling when contreas signs on for another year

1- finalize Vazquez trade

2- resign Contreras to 2 yr/20 million dollar extension

3- trade Garland/Crede to Orioles for Mora/Julio/prospect

I doubt KW will wait until Contreras signs an extension to trade Garland.

At some point before the start of the 2006 season, Garland is a near lock to be traded.

Sox general manager Kenny Williams would neither confirm nor deny such a move Wednesday. But he did indicate that Jose Contreras appears willing to accept a reasonable multiyear contract.

If KW is confident that Contreras wants to stay in Chicago, he will move Garland to improve our team for 2006. Contreras seems to settle down and get comfortable wherever he is and doesn't want to leave. Originally, he didn't want to leave New York if you recall. But Steinbrenner probably threatened to ship him back to Cuba if he didn't waive his no-trade clause. :P

Is this another one of those Carlos Pena predictions where you just have a gut feeling for really no reason? Or is there some basis for this?

Wow, I completely forgot about Mora and the fact that they have been looking to deal Julio for awhile. Mora could play third base for us and would make an excellent #2 hitter. He's also Venezuelan, just like Ozzie. Hmmm...

the down side, Garland is expecting a significant raise after making $3.4 million in 2005. And if another team does have interest, they’d also have to deal with his impending free-agent status.

According to a source, the Sox want at least two quality pitching prospects for Garland.

With Vazquez and Garland both on the books right now, the White Sox’ estimated payroll for 2006 is $95 million. By trading Garland, the payroll would drop well below $90 million.

“It’s kind of a floating number, but we want to check in around $90 million,’’ Williams said of the final payroll. This season, the Sox’ payroll was $75 million.

anyone read that part. any opinions that maybe he only wants prospects

The only reason I say this is once kenny locks up contreas then he will for sure trade garland away. But contreas fights with him on contract siuation then that means leave kenny with option of trading either contreas or garland. It points in their court to either sign at resonable price that kenny thinks or be forced be traded. All articles point contreas coming back and espically hearing kenny's comments make you think he will be retained. Once you fix contract extension to contreas then he for sure trade garland knowing next years staff you will have 1-5.

They want to move julio because he has looked worse each year for each of the least three years now. He is like all the hard throwing arms the tigers have had in their pen in the past. Projects that just end up getting worse when they should be getting better. Julio would be our worst reliever far and away next year and will likely be our most expensive. Say no to julio.

Exactly. People think Marte and Viz are bad? Julio is f***in awful.

I hate Julio, but he seems to me the type of guy that KW would pick up and hope that he regains his effectiveness.

Mora is a FA after the '06 season and Julio just isn't all that good. Not liking that trade.

things concerning next years roster.

1.) finalized deal for vasquez

2.) sign contreas for 2007

3.) arbitration for garland, crede, piersynski

4.) find a trade partner for garland

5.) who to keep out of timo, harris, gload, or anyone else you can think of

I just looked at Mora again and realized this. He will be 34 years old to start next season and he's only under contract for 2006 at $4 million. And wow, Julio sure got sucky since 2002.

If Tejada isn't realistic, I'd rather get Blalock and pitching prospect(s) for Garland and Crede.

Edited by SSH2005

Before KW makes any more deals he will first attempt to give Contreras a 2 year extension to 2008 and lock down Pierzynski for another 2-3 years. Hopefully Jose isn't too upset over El-duque leaving and decides to stay. AJ staying put is almost a garuntee- Chicago adopted him. Once those 2 things are taking care of- KW will then focus on making this team stronger. I personally think his next trade will be unprecedented. Tejada doesn't make sense in terms of the team's financial goal for 2006. And Blalock would be nice, but the reason KW got Mackowiak was to make sure Crede gets his rest throughout the year. I'm smelling some sort of CFer heading our way...

kw should sign my boy tony graffanino

id rather wait and see what happens, i love tejada great player, if we get him we have an outstanding offense and still have a good staff with vasquez taking garlands place, doesnt bother me a bit
