Just announced by Bernsey on the Score. Not a horrible choice, but i guess ANYTHING is better than the prospect of jesse rogers. bye bye dolgin

I think this move will be okay.

I will miss Dolgin... just like I missed big Dave... but the Score could do a lot worse than Rongey.

Thank God it is not Rogers.

Welcome Aboard to pre/post Rongey.

:cheers

I like the choice, one of the few Score guys I actually enjoy listening to. Probably why he doesn't have his own show, that station wouldn't recognize talent if it punched them in the sack.

I think it was a pretty good move. He's pretty good to listen to unlike some of his associates.

I like the choice. I thought Chris did a good job when he did the SCORE Sports Wrap Up show. Welcome aboard Rongey :cheers

i was so worried when the score got the sox, that we'd have north worked in some how, i'm now jumping for joy that all of it is over...

Hes an Illinois State guy so hes OK by me!!!

I listened to that wrap up show on the way home from work pretty frequently. In my opinion, he came off as a smart ass and less than enthusiastic about the Sox. I hope I'm wrong, but he is my 2nd least favorite on the score behind only Mike North. I'd much rather have Lawrence Holmes.

Fred Hubner did this past Saturday's Sox show. He was much better than North. I hope they keep Hubner there.

*Chris Rongey, a sports update anchor at WSCR-AM (1000), has been named host for White Sox pre-game and post-game shows on the CBS Radio sports/talk station. The Sox switch to the Score this season.

He was named the new Pre and Post game host for Sox games on the score 670 -(Feder had it as WSCR 1000- which we all know is incorrect)

Thoughts?

Wait what happend to Dolgin?

He's employed by espn 1000 not the sox so with the switch he's a goner. To bad too, cause I really liked Bryan. To be honest, I've never even heard of this guy.

Isn't it somewhat dissapointing that with the switch in stations and on the heals of winning a WS, the whole Score radio production of the Sox is being staffed with second rate talent?

I wish ESPN still had the radio rights.

Oh yeah, i forgot the sox are going to 670 next year. I haven't heard of the guy either.

I know that the guy knows jack s*** about the sox though, not sure its a great idea.

This guy better be a die hard Sox fan.

Sure didn't seem like it to me this summer Josh. I'd turn off the radio and drive home in silence rather than listen to him some times. Maybe he just came off as an ass working so late at night.

Chris Rongey is awesome, fellas. He is also a very handsome man. :D

I thought now that Canellis (sp?) was there that was what his role would be. I guess some things are to obvious. The SCORE does have horrendous personalities, Mike Murhpy is terrible.

He's actually a Cardinals fan.

Mike Murphy would be perfect. On second thought I don't even want to imagine what a Post Game show would be like with him hosting it.

"Durrr... what's da score of da Cubbies game? Durrr..."

Several weekends last year Rongey would host a late-night segment called "Garbage Hour," or something to that effect. I don't mind him. He has a smart-ass personality to him, similar to Boers and Bernstein. What I look forward to is Rongey providing a fair assessment of the team. Don't jump ship following every loss, but be willing to criticize the team if necessary. Wills--and to a lesser extent, Dolget, practically revolutionized sports radio excuses.

Aside from Murph, I don't mind the Score personalities. Jesse Rogers may be annoying on his own, but I find his recent shows with Lou Cannelis to be surprisingly informative.
