Your thoughts/opinions on Avatars

Featured Replies

What do you think about avatars (the picture under your user name)? Are they a big part of your daily dose of posting? When you see one, do you attribute that certain person... as to how they are? For instance, do you judge the person if they’re a guy or a gal because of the type of image they have in their avatar?

I’m just curious. :)

I like to change mine based on moods, or current happenings on the weekends etc. I sometimes judge people on theirs for sure.

I like them, because that's one thing that can never be too big or in the way of posts. However, it's sometime to kind of associate a poster with.

I love avatars, as long as the person using them has given some thought to what they are using. I've seen some great ones, and I've seen some that are just stupid. I don't like it when people just use the generic ones offered up by some sites. I mean, give it some thought people!

I think my avatar is stupendous.

I definitely associate avatars with some posters. For instance, every time I see or hear of Mike Caruso, it reminds of Kalapse. And any Family Guy references bring Balta to my head.

Victory is mine!

I'm random.....anything and everything about anything and everything for my avatar/sigs. I do register avatars to different posters....and it's irritating when they are changed constantly hard to keep up on who's who....gotta look at the usernames constantly

I'm too lazy to go get one.

The Rally Crede craze caused me to realize how much I rely on visual clues to see who is posting. I change avatars probably too much, but if I didn't, who would read my posts?

Same here :P

I like for my avatar to get a point across and inform the people that view it.

Maybe I should have terrorized someone other than Chris.

I'd like to change mine to deal something with William Tell. Like put an arrow through the apple and say my name on it or something. But I'm not gifted enough so I'm trying to find a picture with an arrow through an apple.

Ask for some help in the How Does That Work Forum and I am certain one will appear in days.

I like them except for the vid avys. They break up the reading and give a reflection of personalities that can be hard to gleen off of the black and white of a persons postings.

Well, sounds like a personal problem and you just insist on taking it out on our poor avatars that are just trying to fit in with the rest of Avatar Society.

Never cared for the vid avs either. But Kid, yours is an exception to the rule.

I had a great vid avatar of this long jumper flattening this chick walking across the runway. I wish I knew where I could find that again.

It doesn't distract .... that's the key, imo. You can read a post without the av being a pain.
