Glitch in certain browsers

Featured Replies

Some sort of warning message or gibberish text with the browser freezing up. I just want you to know that we are working on it right now. I have no idea what it is, but am trying to figure it out.

Thanks for the warning, I am usuing Internet explorer, been on the site for now about 3-4 hours, and havent had the error. My IE is pretty up to date, and has a popup blocker.

If that helps you at all.

Hey CC

I think I just fixed it. It looks like someone (maybe a hacker) put a script into this skin. I just removed it, but was going to see if that fixed things on your end?

I just tried it on my IE (earlier I had gotten the glitch) and it worked ok with me.

Everything should be back to normal, but If anyone is still encountering any trouble please make a post here or PM or email me.

Thanks, I did have the error-and dont have it now

Yay!

It's gone!

It was giving me trojan viruses and freezing my browser.

:(

Yeah I'm in for the first time since about 11:30 am.

f***ed up thing is I tested soxtalk on a brand new machine to see if it was just my computer...and that machine got hammered with spyware. I had to rebuild it from scratch it was so bad. I couldn't even boot into safe mode. Glad it wasn't my machine.

For some reason on my computer at home I can't get on ST. On this computer that's not at home I can get on. At home my computer says error you are not permitted to use this board... Why is this happening? It started last week.

Somehow a script got inserted right above the google ads. I removed it and checked the other skins and saw nothing. Going to make sure an update the security on this site and get the passwords changed as a precaution.

I know a while back PHPBB had a lot of problems with security flaws but IPB is supposed to be very good on that front (Vbulletin is too). Whatever it was it appears to be fixed but I'm going to do what I can to protect it from happening in the future.

Thanks man!! It was rough being at work today and having to do WORK!!!!!!!

I was having withdrawls.

Just so you know...I have IE 6 with all the latest updates on it. I have Norton on my machine so it caught the trojans. Unfortunately the other machine I tested didn't have Norton on it yet...thats why i get hit. Anyway thanks for gettin us back up!!

It was crashing my Explorer. I had to use System Restore to get rid of it. Firefox owned it though.

The skin I normally use is gone. Is there any reason for this or did I mess something up?

I cleaned up a lot of stuff in preparation of some upgrades that will be done before the start of the season. Some of which was I scaled back some of the skins.

Yeah i had no clue what was going on this morning, but when soxtalk is the only website that brings up my virus scan warning, something is wrong. Glad it's fixed.

Sheesh... some people just can't get a hint.

It looks like we had a corruption somewhere in the data base... It seems to be fixed, but I am waiting for official cofirmation from Kap or Jason. If it goes back down, you know why...

pretty much all day, at home and at work... soxtalk was not working for me in firefox or IE. it would just say (do you want to download this file?)

eh, its back, and life can continue as normal.

the link on the top of the thread is broken still though.

"Soxtalk.com > Sox Baseball Headquarters > Pale Hose Talk"

After much hair-pulling and a few colorful metaphors, the site's obviously back up.

My fault... sort of. There was a script that I ran this morning that deleted the function of the message boards. Once I figured that out it took all of 5 minutes to fix.

We appreciate the effort, good sir.

Is it a bad thing that I don't know what to do with myself when Soxtalk isn't working? I need a life.

It's not just that link, there's a few others broken throughout the forums as well.

Clear out your cache. They're all working for me.

Ya if you clear out the cache everything should work perfect. Glad everything is back up. Today is my swamped day so I wasn't around, but mega thanks go out to Kap for getting things squared away and back up and running :)
