Best #5 pitcher in baseball

Great outing by Vazquez.

Still, I'm a little more anxious today than I usually am for some reason.. Let's just end this one as fast as we can, please.

How about we avoid Sweeney batting this game as the tying run?  I think we can all agree we'd rather not see that.

I can think of a few things that would be more pleasant than that. Having teeth pulled comes to mind.

Vazquez looked good today, he was in that zone where he could throw a strike if he felt like it, and his breaking stuff was nasty.

radio says first hit wasnt legit, what happened

Stupid little check swing roller down the 3rd base line that stayed fair. Swinging bunt basically.

check swing roller up the 3rd base line...only play crede and javy had was to let it roll, adn they did and it stayed fair

Best #5 pitcher in baseball

He's not our #5, Garland is (and no, I don't know or care what that goofy depth chart on the team site says). Javy may be the best #4 in baseball though.

I agree, I think Garland needs to be slotted further down in the rotation, he's not been as good since we moved him up from #5, aside from yesterdays start vs the Royals, anyway.

Let's put it this way, whoever our #5 starter is, he's better than most #2 starters in baseball. Hell, our #6 starter probably fits that bill too.

Looked like a decent crowd for a wednesday afternoon game as well....usually there would be about 9,000 at a game like today.

If he wasn't our 5th starter then how come he's pitched each 5th game ....??? I know he may not be a fifth starter(hell he could easily be 1 or 2) but he is OUR 5th starter.

I wish I could have been there...stupid work. Beautiful day today, and excellent pitching to go along with it.

OK Cotts, WTF already...get him out.

come on neal

Another hit. CMON NEAL

Great ab by Buck there. Cmon Neal, nail this b**** down.

Well, at least Cotts is getting some work in during this at bat.

They all pitch every 5th game :bang

And btw, Garland is the 5th starter, not Javy.

Pinch hitter Buck taking his hacks. 11 pitch AB base hit

1st and 2nd - 0 outs

Once the season really gets rolling....vazquez is better suited for the 5 spot because he will end up pitching against some other teams number 1 pitchers because teams rotations don't always really line up 1 versus 1, 2 versus 2, etc.

Get out of this Cotts.
