How about we avoid Sweeney batting this game as the tying run?  I think we can all agree we'd rather not see that.

I can think of a few things that would be more pleasant than that. Having teeth pulled comes to mind.

He's not our #5, Garland is (and no, I don't know or care what that goofy depth chart on the team site says).  Javy may be the best #4 in baseball though.

I agree, I think Garland needs to be slotted further down in the rotation, he's not been as good since we moved him up from #5, aside from yesterdays start vs the Royals, anyway.

Let's put it this way, whoever our #5 starter is, he's better than most #2 starters in baseball. Hell, our #6 starter probably fits that bill too.

If he wasn't our 5th starter then how come he's pitched each 5th game ....??? I know he may not be a fifth starter(hell he could easily be 1 or 2) but he is OUR 5th starter.

Looked like a decent crowd for a wednesday afternoon game as well....usually there would be about 9,000 at a game like today.

I wish I could have been there...stupid work. Beautiful day today, and excellent pitching to go along with it.

OK Cotts, WTF already...get him out.

They all pitch every 5th game :bang

And btw, Garland is the 5th starter, not Javy.

Once the season really gets rolling....vazquez is better suited for the 5 spot because he will end up pitching against some other teams number 1 pitchers because teams rotations don't always really line up 1 versus 1, 2 versus 2, etc.
