Boone Logan...

...should not be on the squad. Period.

I don't care if he hasn't worked in X amount of days...You need to be able to throw strikes.

He's a professional. He was staked to a 4 run lead with two outs in the inning. Throw f'ing strikes. I'd rather see him give up two consecutive solo home runs than two consecutive walks in that situation...Just shows me that he doesn't have the stones to be in a major league pen right now.

If it's my team, I send him down and call up Javier Lopez immediately after the game.

I have no problem with him being on the team, but that's not the right spot to put him in, and it was about 5 feet away from leading to a tie game. He needs to throw strikes, if he does I still think he can be useful. But his leash is getting pretty short.

Javier Lopez has a 0.00 ERA down at Charlotte in 9IP FWIW.

I think they're gonna keep Logan up until he actually starts costing them games though. Not like it's a huge problem ATM, just like Brian Anderson really.

At least Brian has shown himself to be useful with his stellar defense out in CF....

Not his fault the organization made a truly bone-headed decision of putting him on the ML roster.

I agree.

Get Logan out of here.

He is not a MLB pitcher.

And you're right, he has no business being on this team.

GET HIM OUT OF HERE!

If Logan was a Rule V pick with a huge upside in the future, then doing this to him would be fine. I wouldn't complain. But since he can be sent down to the minors without losing him, its just silly to keep him up where he can't compete.

The guy has given up 1 whole run. He couldn't find the strikezone today but this is the first time including spring training that, that has happened. If he can't throw strikes you guys are all right..he's useless but if he can continue to pound the strike zone, then he'll be a fine loogy.

I understand what you're saying WSF101, but if tonight wasn't the time and place for Boone, when exactly should he pitch? There were two outs in the inning and we were up by 4 runs...He only needed to get 1 out...that sounds like a fairly low pressure situation to me. It wasn't a high pressure situation until he made it one.

He's not ready...not yet. Time to get someone who can help keep this 5-man bullpen from blowing itself up by July.

It's one game fellas. We give a lot of pitchers several terrible outings before we decide they should be gone (usually). He's inexperienced and didn't do well tonight, but cut the kid a break, it was one bad outing.

send him down somewhere so he can pitch consistently and rebuild his confidence.

he's not worth much to this team considering his inexperience and lack of command.

A guy that young needs to pitch.

I'm sure there is a USAir flight to Charlotte in the morning.

So.....this guy lost his spot on the team after two walks....

Yes. If he can't be trusted unless the Sox have a 7-run-lead, then he has no utility on this team.

And another thing, the Sox didn't need to see Kevin Walker make 10 poor appearances before deciding to give someone else a chance.

he is awful and should be traded. Long live Javy Lopez!

ps. This discussion sounds eerily similar to people banging on the drums to get Podsednik outta the lineup after a slow start.

Bottom line: Logan doesn't belong.

You don't go from A ball to the majors.

He's hardly pitching and while he hasn't given up many runs, if he got regular innings, I am quite confident he would have a growing ERA.

Hell had he stayed in tonight, he could have given up 3 or 4 runs in an inning easily.

This isn't Tucson anymore. I'm tired of hearing of what he did in Spring Training because its meaningless. He hasn't impressed anyone to this point.

He's just not ready.

Didn't that discussion center around whether Pods should be on the DL? No one questions SP's ability when he is healthy.

Difference: Podsednik, proven major league player, who has made an all-star team and competed on a team which won the World Series.

Logan, really hasn't even done anything worthwile in professional baseball besides log an impressive era in meaningless spring training games. If he wasn't lefthanded, he wouldn't even be in baseball.

It isn't so much that we're (those of us that want him gone) are blaming him for sucking--it's that he should never have put in this positiion in the first place--I think we're blaming management more than Logan.

He's a potentially useful (in the future) young player that needed to gain experience in the minors before making the squad. He excelled in the fools gold of spring training and made the team--I'm guessing at Ozzie's behest.

The team would be better served with a player that's pitched above A ball--I think that much is obvious.

He pitched great in ST and earned his spot.

He is pitching better than politte, and Cotts for crying out loud

Give him a few more appearances I say.

He pitched great in ST and earned his spot.

I hear BA looked great in ST, and that Gooch looked horrible. ST means little in the grand scheme of things.

For every case of a guy contiuning a hot spring in the regular season, there are 5 cases of spring meaning nothing.

I'm just wondering if we still even need three lefties. Thornton has barely pitched and I just wonder if we would be better off with another righty than Logan.

Well Boone hasn't had the chance to prove himself and won't if you give him 3.2 whole innings to prove himself. The guy has the stuff and the motion to be a successful reliever in this league.
