I expected failure, as I do every minor leaguer traveling through our organization. Doesn't make it any less aggrivating to watch. I'd rather have been wrong and watched Haeger throw a quality game. As I said earlier, 4 ER over 6 innings would have been expected. 6 walks is simply not good. Especially for a knuckleballer. Why swing your bat at all if he can't locate pitches? Atleast Molina prevented Haeger from his 7th walk. Unfortunately, his ERA rises again. Haeger's meatballs are eating up our infielders. Personally, I throw out a poor major league debut and chalk it up to nerves. Obviously his walk rate was high coming in, but not this high.
