This week

Featured Replies

Will bring back memories of late June, 2000 except on the other coast.

Contreras vs. Lackey

Buehrle vs. Santana

Garcia vs. Saunders

Day to ponder fate

Garland vs. Loaiza?

Vazquez vs. Zito?

Contreras vs. Blanton?

I actually think on paper the matchups favor us except for Garcia vs Saunders

Saunders and Zito have the amazing ability to throw with their left hand, which causes our bats to cower in fear.

Loaiza has been every bit as good as Garland lately.

Lackey is a better pitcher than Contreras, especially the recent contreras, plus they have a pitcher named Santana. That's even more dangerous than throwing left-handed.

So the only guy I'm not scared of is Blanton, but he should pitch opposite Contreras, and who knows which Contreras we'll see this week. (Contreras has generally been good against the Angels. Phreakin' Dallas McPhereson gave him Phits, but other than that he's been pretty good against them.)

I have no logical reason to feel this way, but I can't shake the feeling that the Sox will finally go on that run we've been waiting for this week.

Wishful thinking, probably....

I'm thrilled that Thursday is an off day.

Pretty good shot when we come back from this trip our season will basically be over. Prove me wrong White Sox.

There's no reason to believe this EXCEPT, the starting pitching has been consistant outside of Buehrle for like a week. So...that's something.

I expect to lost tomorrow and saturday because I remember santana and Zito being dominant against us in the past

anything better than a 4-2 week is a huge success if you ask me

i've had the same feeling, but that's just my "always hopeful" side probably.

Looking ahead a little bit: If Ozzie keeps the rotation as is, we would send out Buehrle, Garcia, and Garland against Detroit in our series next week. Sending out Buehrle and Garcia in the same series doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence in me.

We have an off-day immediately following this series. If Ozzie wanted to manipulate the rotation, what could he do to get two of Garland/Vazquez/Contreras to pitch in that series?
