no chance we win, huh

Sorry, should have stated that different. Pods cost us the chance to have the lead going into the 9th.

so do file this one under "Ozzie sucks and we should have lost this game in the 8th" or "Ozzie sucks and he got lucky"

The latter. Not every mistake loses the game. Ozzie put in the wrong pitcher and he got the team in trouble. Then he put the right pitcher in and the right pitcher got us out of trouble. That doesn't mean Ozzie did the right thing by starting with Hermanson.

A good manager like Scioscia will put his 2 best relievers in during a tie game.

Jim so us your 'unclutchness" by hitting a BOMB!

Is Ozzie going to leave Thornton in or put Bobby in, in the bottom of the 9th?

Mike Scossia makes me drool.

With three righties coming up, I doubt Ozzie would let it happen.

No doubt, but regardless of L/R Jenks doesn't give me good feelings lately.

Ugh...that was his pitch to do damage on. Strikeout on a low slider coming in 3....2...1

You usually don't go with your closer on the road unless you have the lead.

I don't know about you guys, but one of the things that pisses me off the most about Ozzie is how he thinks lefties can automatically get lefties out, even though both are lefties are probably more effect vs. righties.

It definitely appears like Jenks could use a couple of days off.

Wow...I'm stunned they threw him the fastball. Thome doesn't get it done in the 9th....stunner.

Damaso Marte in 2005 says hi.

"watching" this game on gamecast is killing me, they make every ball "in play" look like a routine fly ball, but basically all end up being singles, i could sworn anderson's was gettin down...c'mon south siders right here

That's what I think also.

christ hawk, this is one situation where you DON'T turn him loose....yes!

I once would like to see Thome lay down a bunt in that situation down the 3rd base line, when he is facing a pitcher who he has almost no chance against, instead of trying to be Mr. Hero and hit the game winner.

Ummm...it's probably the best time to do it. Against KRod, you're not going to put together a 3 hit inning. If you can swing at a likely fastball in that situation, let it rip.

We take a power hitting threat out of a tie game? Well at least Gload gets to play.

To me, Ozzie has always been too caught up in the L vs. L and R vs. R match-up. Its a pretty known fact though that guys usually hit better facing a pitcher from their opposite side. My problem with Ozzie is when he takes pitchers who are on a roll out because of that particular match-up. There's really no telling if a guy is going to be bringing his good stuff with him from the bullpen. If someone is pitching well, l would usually leave him in.
