September 24, 200619 yr I wasn't at either game, but the 2 that stick in my mind is The World Series banners being unveiled, and the other was the guys with the tuxes coming from center field with the rings on silver platters.
September 24, 200619 yr I find it troubling that most of this team's best hightlights came from the first-half.
September 24, 200619 yr Being a Juan Uribe fan, I was pretty happy he slammed in what may have been his last game as a Sox at the Cell today. It wasn't my favorite play of the year, but I was happy for him.
September 24, 200619 yr QUOTE(Jordan4life_2006 @ Sep 24, 2006 -> 03:12 AM) I find it troubling that most of this team's best hightlights came from the first-half. It's troubling, but not surprising.
September 25, 200619 yr QUOTE(Pierzynski_12 @ Sep 22, 2006 -> 07:25 AM) AJ's homerun in the top of the 9th against the cubs with 2 outs and 2 on! That has to be my favoirte and I know I'm not alone on that one. ^^^^^^^^^^^
September 25, 200619 yr I can't believe I forgot about Iguchi's play going horizontal in the 9th inning to save a game!
September 25, 200619 yr Yeah I vote for the AJ homer at Wrigley as best play of the year. Coincidentally, my favorite play of all of 2005 (regular season) was his walkoff homerun against the Dodgers. That was just flat-out incredible. Defensively, the Gooch ass-over-teakettle toss to first absolutely is an all-time classic and I would suspect will end up in the game opening video starting next year. Garland's homer? LOL! I had forgotten about that...
September 25, 200619 yr AJ's 9th inning homer off Dempster to win the game, has to be one of the top, most thrilling moments. Talk about a rush ............
September 26, 200619 yr I would also have to say Iguchi's grand slam against the Astros. It was something like 3 straight games in which the Sox hit a grand slam.
September 26, 200619 yr the incredible comeback to score like 9 runs in the ninth (we went on to lose, but when iguchi hit that homer, i s*** myself). That was an amazing moment. I called my dad in Chicago as i did in the Series and playoffs last year. It seemed like the magic was continuing this season. That 3 game sweep of the Tigers in August also was nice at the Cell. It seemed to me we would take that and it would propel us to a big finish and maybe even a repeat world championship. For some reason Detroit was the only team we could play well against, though. It's hard to believe how we went in the tank.
September 26, 200619 yr vs Astros Tadahito Iguchi drived 7 runs in last 2 innings!!! unbelivable!!!! it's awesome!!!!!
September 26, 200619 yr Opening night, thome's bomb The entire cincinnati series (was there) AJ's bomb against the cubs The brawl and then the slam (was there) The almost comeback against the tribe in the 9th (was there) AJ's walkoff against the tribe that was supposed to turn around the season (was there)
September 26, 200619 yr Another fun one was Franks return to Chicago with his two HRs and it still not being enough after Macowiak's 9th inning HR to tie it, and the rally in the 10th... all conviently for our patio party.
September 26, 200619 yr QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 26, 2006 -> 08:06 AM) Another fun one was Franks return to Chicago with his two HRs and it still not being enough after Macowiak's 9th inning HR to tie it, and the rally in the 10th... all conviently for our patio party. That's one of my favorite memories, also!!
September 27, 200619 yr One of My Favorites. This picture that I took says it all when I was at Franks return May 22.
October 3, 200619 yr I was just saw the official page and saw the 2 plays they selected as plays of the year....1. Pods brings back a homer, and 2. Sox turn a triple play. I dont know about you guys but I feel that Iguchis throw right before he hit the ground was worthy of top play. My top play of the year has to go to Gload with his gs in Baltimore........but my most memorable is when Brian Anderson showed his true colors in the Sox/Cubs series.
October 6, 200619 yr My top 3: 1) Down 9-1 going into the 7th and then Iguchi comes through with 7 rbi in the last two innings and the 2 out grand slam to tie it. I was there and it was an AMAZING experience. 2) Franks return. My boyhood hero hits two home runs, including his first at bat in Comisky as a member of another team. Mack'f first homer as a White Sox and then Pablo's walk of bunt in the White Sox come from behind victory over Barry Zito and the A's. I was at this game as well. 3) The brawl/Iguchi's slam and AJ's dong at Wrigley.
