fifth starter competition

Slow times, but what do people think. Several people mention Haeger, which I love as I remember Wilbur Wood, but I wonder how much the light air will hinder the Knuckler in spring training. Last year springtraining whip was 2.6. He did good late season with Sox but his minor league second half ERA over 5. I think we may go four man rotation primarily early due to days off so ability to pitch some from pen will help. Who wins ?

I'm pulling for Haeger, but it seems like the organization favors Floyd. Who knows? (I don't like Haeger's chances of blowing everyone away in the desert, either, which I think is a shame. Stupid environment.)

I like Haeger, but the walks make me real nervous. I'm gonna go with Floyd as long as he has a solid spring training.

I think Haeger ends up getting a spot. Watch out for Broadway or Danks as darkhorses.

Gavin Floyd.

I'm a big fan of Haeger, but I believe Floyd will win the final rotation spot and do a damn good job.

I'm all for Haeger getting it, let Floyd work out his problems in AAA for awhile and bring him up when he is ready.

I do not want Haeger anywhere near this rotation. Gavin Floyd will surprise you all.

I have a feeling that both of them will be surprisingly good. All things considered I'm probably rooting for Charlie this year, but I think both of them have it in them to turn out darn good.

I agree completely

Floyd will win it unless he has a disasterous spring. He's the one that should be in it, he has the most experience and biggest upside, at least in my book.

I think Floyd will win the spot and post double digits in victories

I like Haeger. I'm hoping he wins it, but at least he better earn it. No tallest midget s*** again.

I don't care who gets its as long as he wins more than he loses. And that goes for the rest of the rotation and bullpen.

Floyd or Sisco (I just want to make a crazy prediction so I threw Sisco in there).

I think it will be Floyd or Sisco.

Gavin

Go Haeger!! But I'm guessing the Sox have written him off, 2/3 years ago. So please, someone, step up. If I had to guess, I'd guess a decent, not great, st from Floyd wins him the job. Sadly.

Iam going with Danks.Kenny was blown away by this kid,he will get his shot.

I think it will be Floyd

GIO! he dominates in spring and gets the nod

I will add my conspiracy therory to the mix that it is Haegar's job, always has been and that was why they traded McCarthy. There will be competition but I believe they will favor toward Haegar unless completly blown away.

I think if Broadway has a monster spring he will get considered.
