I predict ground out to second.

idiot... :P

thats grinder ball...

Good hustle by Erstad.

There's a grinder -- he gives everything during a game; whether it's a blowout or not.

It'll be a moment like that he'll injure himself trying to stretch out to first to beat an infield single in a 10-0 game.

Little known fact... if you look up 'grinder' in the dictionary, there will be a picture of Darin Erstad

and thats the ball game... Buehrle looked pretty good at least.

I'm sure we're near 40 DP's this spring training. It has been ridiculous.

Velocity wise, yes.

Results, wise? Not so much.

Thats what I mean... I really don't pay that much attention in spring training when it comes to results with pitchers... I mainly just care how their stuff looks.

Buehrle was throwing like 84-85 mph when I was watching. I sure hope he was pitching faster than that when I wasn't watching.

4 today?

Sox have 36 GIDP this spring.

The most of any team in baseball, Oakland is just behind them at 35 and it's a pretty big drop off after that.

I watched the whole game and never saw Buehrle top 86 but that could have been the gun.

Granted, I've never seen him top 88 at the Cell so maybe it's not that big a deal.

I saw a couple of 87s and 88s in the first inning. Like I've said before, I was in Tucson last year and he was topping out at 80 the game I was at. So he's a little better, but he is giving up a lot of hits.

I don't put much stock in the gun they have in spring training. It varies way too often, and I think it is at least 2-3 mph off most of the time.
