No, but we won virtually every close game we had. We probably have more blown saves this year than we did in all of 2005. My grandma could have managed a team well with 3 lights out relievers.

Is this coming from the same guy who basically invented the "choke" avatar in 2005?

Buy stock in Miller Lite

WHAT?!? They drink Old Style there. ;)

Edit: NVM you changed your post, thought you were referring to their park.

I really wish we hadn't blown so many games. We'd seriously be in first place.

Good job!

No team that gives up more runs that it scores has ever finished in first, probably not even in 2nd.

We're simply not that good. Our offense is the worst in the AL, and our bullpen is tied for 2nd in blown saves.

We're exactly where we belong with our strong starting pitching (20 something starts of 6+ innings) and good defense...it's cancelled out by our offense and bullpen.

I never once used the avatar, thanks! And to say that team didn't choke over the last two months of the regular season is a nice case of hindsight.

You mean FunnyMan Ryan Dempster, right? Cuz that's what our lovely Chicago media would have you believe. Dude's like the John Salley of baseball -- not really funny, but he's an athlete and he makes lousy jokes, so he's HILARIOUS.

that and he is Candian, so thats two strikes against him.

Bingo! Look at our talent level....it's nothing special.

I do think that team choked over the last two months of the season

to say that anyone could've managed that team during that freefall is utterly revisionist and ludicrous

And Ryan "The Natural" Sweeney is now down to .200.

Well, at least he has SOME clue at the plate, watching Terrero up there with Hall at 2B was laughable.

And Erstad's now 4 for 34 against LHP. Great AB against Lilly, although a good LF catches that ball that Darin hit.

we still don't have Jim Thome or Scott Podsednik, and we just got back a backup catcher capable of hitting at the major league level

a little patience beyond one game would be completely refreshing

Im trying to be patient. But its almost 40 games into the year and we have not one guy hitting over .265 and are four hitter is batting .191

Its just a little nerve racking.

Talent, yes. Severely underachieving talent, but talent nonetheless.

And although some of it is deserved, the Ozzie-b****ing has gotten way out of hand.

At some point these pieces of s*** on the field have to PRODUCE.

Oh come on....the chances of Pods coming back 100 pct this year aren't very good. KW should have never brought him back, as he's as fragile as Barbaro. As for Thome....it's hard to put a lot of faith in a 36 year old power hitter who swings very hard with a rib cage injury.
