LOL.

I wonder if anyone puts "Warcraft Clan Leader" on their resume.

Whats worse, putting that or leaving out the Warcraft (or any other game part) and just putting Clan Leader. haha

I think there really is something to that though. Some people really are TOO into MMOs and can't separate the two. I know when I was really into EQ2 and WOW for a couple of years, my social life took a dump, and it was always the first thing I did when I came home. It didn't affect my work performance but I could see how it could affect some people. Eventually I just had to quit, which is harder than it sounds b/c of all the social interaction.

it's kind of like quitting Soxtalk

Looks like I'll be playing my wii a little more now. My fiance knocked the ps3 on the floor (kind of my fault though), it only took a 2 foot death drop to the carpeted floor to screw up the hard drive. Luckily for me it is still under warranty and I won't even be home much the next 3 weeks as it's getting repaired.

I love the Wii, but I definitely need my steady diet of the heavyweight games.

I think we all have determined which systems we like. I like playing Super Mario Galaxy, Zelda, World of Goo, Rampage, MarioKart, Spiderman Friend or Foe and plenty of other games by myself.

It doesnt blow as much as you think it does, and I know it isnt as great of a piece of hardware like PS3 and the 360, I dont need to be told every time I bring up the system that I play

I said it blows as the only source of gaming, not all the time because I have a Wii at my disposal and yes some of the games you listed are fun.. but, like I said, as the only source of gaming, it blows,

Exchanges between owners of different systems tend to be much, much worse in other places than they get in this thread. I haven't seen too many fanboy arguments in here which is a relief, I still people getting pretty territorial though. Reading various places on the internet though I think the most obnoxious are PS3 owners (who are by default Blu-Ray fanboys in the format wars), they've calmed down recently though. I don't know how someone could get so emotionally attached to a piece of hardware, I mean WTF.

It would blow for you or me, not so much their target audience though. I can't say the Wii blows even if its hardware is pretty far inferior to the other 2 systems and PC games though, I mean, what a marketing coup by Nintendo.

I honestly think Nintendo will start a bigger program to bring in some hardcore gamers within the next year or so. JMO of course, but they know they need to step into that market a little bit

Why fix something that isn't broken?

Is that fixing something that isnt broken, or engineering a new revenue stream?

If they make a new Zelda I will surely be buying it

Until then, ill let my 11 year old sister go nuts with the system..

With the console's limitations I really don't see how far they could make advances to bring in the hardcore gamer anyway.

They cant

I played Madden 09 on Wii the other day and while the one game I played against my friend was entertaining, there was no way that I could keep playing it..

The graphics cant compare and the game play is meh even though it is kind of fun to use the control system.. but over and over? I wouldn't be able to keep playing..

If the game is fun, people will play it. It doesnt have to be blue ray to bring in the guy who wants to play an RPG or MMO

More power to them if they could pull it off. I just doubt the hardcore gamer would play a graphically inferior version of a game on a Wii if they can get a better version of it on other platforms.

Except soxtalk is way harder to quit, out of my capabilities.

I kind of agree with you both, Nintendo's current formula is obviously VERY successful business-wise, and I'm sure they want to widen their market share, but at the same time, they don't really need to. They're in kind of an odd position where they don't compete directly with their competition. But that's not saying they can't be doing more - there's plenty of "fun for everyone" type of games, but they can also be drawing in the more traditional gamers with traditional quality games.

On the other hand, if you're a 3rd party developer who wants to produce a game like that - why would you do it on the Wii when you can make the game much better, and probably easier, for the Xbox or PS3?

I love my Wii and the games I have for it. I don't play nearly as much as I did 2 years ago when Halo3 came out and I was up all night (part of growing up ha). So the XBOX was no fun.

When I play the Wii it is a good time. But a system for graphics its not. I picked up Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition based on reviews, and first of all, the game play sucks, but it looked like a Sega Saturn port. It was bad.

However, the good games are fun and keep me coming back, and I love jacking homeruns with the Wiimote.

i own 2 blu-ray movies and i've had my ps3 for 2 years. I don't have a huge hd tv. i think that's why i don't own more movies at the moment.

I have an HDTV but I'm holding off on buying a PS3 until I get another one that's 1080p. Which might be sometime this summer.

I doubt they will. They're following the same strategy they always have. For once, it's working and they're dominating the field. The only thing they have to worry about is whether Sony pulls their heads from their asses and drops the price of the PS3 and starts marketing that it's a gaming system, not just a bluray player--which even then, I doubt is enough for Sony to get back on top. The Wii is a marvel to the masses, and as much as I think it's a trash system, Sony nor Microsoft have what it takes in their current systems to overtake it.

Though, the best thing to come from the Wii is proof that gaming isn't about graphics, it's about gameplay. But even so, the Wii simply isn't built to harbor "deep" games.

And book it, I will always poke fun at you for having a Wii. :)
