Morale has to be brutal right now...specially for Garland

All they have to do is play .700 baseball the rest of the way and we'll be watching White Sox October baseball! Seriously though, .700 baseball.

What clip did the Indian's play at in '05?

When is the playoff ticket money due?

August :D

At least Kobe could be a Bull by next Thursday :pray :pray :pray :pray

Iguchi, Cintron, Mackowiak, Dye and most of the current bullpen need to be traded before the deadline.

Buehrle needs to be re-signed and Garland extended.

Contreras and/or Vazquez should be shopped before the deadline as well.

Just win the next three games then get ready for '08.

I like it...also: please swap Owens/Sweeney

Until Sizemore dropped that ball, they had a stretch where they were at about .750 for 2 months.

Over their final 94 games they went 56 and 38 (.596) to finish with 93 wins which wasn't enough to make the playoffs.

So the Sox need to go 66 and 28 (.702) in their final 94 games to reach 95 wins and a chance at a WC/Divsion title.

We can do it if we start winning some games :D

No more minor league phenoms. We don't have much luck going there

Wow. The window is still barely open, but to me this Cubs series is going to be the point of no return. Only because this is like our little mini-WS here, they lost two there, and if they cannot get it up for this then season's over. After this a long spell at Tampa and then at KC. If ever there's a time to turn it around, now is it.

If, after this week, we're still piddling at .333 ball or worse against Cubs, Devil Rays and Royals,.... season's over. Let the sale begin.

Between August 5th and September 24th (Sizemore's drop was on the 25th) the Indians went 34-11 which is a .755 win percentage.

The White Sox are 76-86 their last 162. Making a good run doesn't look too promising.

I'll see a .700 clip in this team about the time I see clutch hitting and clutch pitching out of the bullpen. He have neither the bullpen to shut down close games nor the offense to blow games open. This has to be the worst kind of team to watch: starters going 6-8 innings regularly and keeping the games close (maybe even having leads) and then an overtaxed starter/sucky bullpen giving up leads late in games.

I hate the feeling I have watching these games now. It's so hard not rooting for the team you love, but deep down, I know it's better off if they lose these games so that they don't have false hope. Hell, for this coming weekend, I think I'm rooting more for the Cubs to lose against the Sox than I am the Sox to win games.

The Sox are playing the least entertaining baseball of any team in the game right now. Atleast when the Cubs are terrible they're fun-bad. The Sox are just boring and depressing right now.

We HAVE the offense, they are just not doing s*** right now.

Owens got sent back to Charlotte. I hope I never see him in a batter's box in a White Sox uniform again.

You're not the only one -- I feel so hand-cuffed cheering for this team right now. I mean, what does a win do for me anymore? At this point it sure seems like any win in the next couple weeks just delays the inevitable breaking up of this group.

These next couple weeks might actually be very, very rough. The three starting OFers for next weeks slate of games are probably going to be Podsednik, Erstad and Dye, three guys who shouldn't be anywhere near the 2008 team. I don't want to see that, and frankly if we're subjected to those three for more than two weeks, this organization should be embarrassed. All three should be on the trading block -- find a livearmed rookie ball arm for anyone who will take either of the former two, and look for a good deal with Dye. Terrero is probably nothing more than a 4th OFer, but he's been exciting -- he's put down some good bunts, he hustles his ass off down the line and he actually has a pretty good arm.

On a separate note, Fields is a very good mistake-ball hitter. He's laced some hanging curves the past few days. And his batting eye is pretty good, too. He swings and misses at a lot of pitches, but right now he's putting up a line right around where I'd expect him to be over the next year or so -- .265/.308/.449. It's a shame people are going to eventually start to b**** at him for striking out too much -- he's soooo going to get the Adam Dunn treatment in a year or so.

OH f*** YES.

PODS OR ERSTAD YESSSSSSSSSSSS

:)

Juan Uribe is a human pile of waste. Even when he hits for the first time in a month, he can't field. And then we left Garland in too long, he was saved to end the 7th by the great defensive play but was running out of fuel. And then Bobby Jenks gives up a 3 run homer to JASON WOOD?!??! Plus, our manager concludes today is a good day to try and make our closer get a 6 out save, AND decides to leave him in for the 9th after the cat is out of the bag. And our lack of talent showed today too.

Today's loss showed off everything wrong with our team right now which is, well everything except our starting pitching and Josh Fields right now, with Mackowiak, Terrero, and A.J. being adequate as well. Maybe if the Cubs sweep us and it becomes over a month without a series win, somebody loses their job. But I doubt it.

I wonder too what clip that far more talented team that missed the playoffs played at too.

But since he is one of Ozzie's boys, Ozzie will defend him at the press conference even though Uribe's mistakes were just as evident as Iguchi, Iguchi gets called out in the pc yesterday. Ozzie needs to have some balls and bench players that don't have their head in the game like Bobby Cox did with Andruw Jones
