This is pretty good evidence of a) our drafting/development ineptitude, B) the relative worthlessness --or maybe i should say overratedness, if that's a word -- of prospects in general (I mean, I'm sure we got some useful players in return for some of those guys) and c) solid reasoning behind the swisher trade.

now what would be interesting to me is to see the prospect rankings of some of those guys at the time of their trades. Most likely none of them were at the level of Gio or DLS but if they were, that's even MORE evidence.

anybody got that information?

Sorry to be offtopic here, but I just noticed you were from Ann Arbor, are you a student or what? I thought I was the only Sox fan here!

Ann Arbor is a whore.

I suppose Rauch was no longer considered a prospect when he was traded.

BTW, that is one pathetic list of pitchers.

Yes it is.

And I was actually PISSED about trading Haigwood. I thought for sure he was money in the bank, guess not.

I can't believe the Whitesox traded away their future like that

Further proof that the Swisher trade was awful.

So does this list lend Kenny a little bit of credibility when the subject of trading away prospects comes up?

Enemencio Pacheco

Eventually you gotta wonder why teams trade with us :-P.

Well that would explain the lack of interest from teams dealing with us the past couple of years.I think we have to improve the farm with excellent draft picks the next 3 years straight or this organizations future will be pretty bleak for the next decade.

Now what is the list of players we got in return for those players?

Or the list of minor league pitchers the Sox have traded FOR and where they ended up.

Not that its important, but isn't that list missing some and a little wrong? We shipped Anthony Webster with Rupe and Francisco to Texas in 03. Majew got traded in 04 for Everett the second time. We also traded Alex Fernandez and Humberto Quintero for Jimenez in 02.

Not a big deal, but just wanted to note it. There might be more missing.

Reifert's list only includes pitching prospects the guys you mentioned are all position players.
