West Region

Wow that ending took long for Xavier/Purdue, even by basketball standards. Anyways, the Big 10 is still absolute garbage. Wisconsin obviously isn't, but the rest of the league is.

who cares about your bracket, no one gets the home court like UCLA, they never leave California.

GO AGGIES!!!

I thought UCLA was ok at the half, but just the events of this opening minute with the easy 3 pointer and that bizarre bank shot make me think it might be A&M's night. The west is already chaos, but if UCLA were to fall, it'd be beyond chaos out there.

UCLA is hacking the s*** out of A&M down low

Looking it over, and saying screw my UCLA pick for this round, GO AGGIES!

Plus, I did not have them in the final four, and almost everyone else did.

Love is just unbelieveable.

Bruins win, wow. They almost blew a chance at winning this epically horrible region, but they get it done.

Man, it's been ugly, but it's pretty freakin' amazing that Love and Collison are the only Bruins showing up on offense and they're still winning.

UCLA was hacking the crap out of TAMU that last 10 minutes. With Duke out, I want to see anyone but UCLA win.

Not sure why A&M wouldnt run a play where they penetrate and kick for a 3 to try and just end the game on that possession. Three UCLA players were in the paint, I guess I just dont get it. If you have the chance for the upset imo you take the 3 and go for the win.

I can't see them winning with this group, just not enough offense even with Love. They had a final four trip handed to them on a silver platter being in this region and came very close to blowing it tonight though.

EDIT: I agree Soxbadger, gotta go for 3 and the win under those circumstances.

BTW, those refs messed up bad. With about 1 minute 45 left in the game, UCLA was called for a foul after Westbrook got stripped of the ball. However, the refs called it an offensive foul. It clearly was a loose ball foul, and it cost TAMU 2 ft shots.

Another game, another terrible job by the refs. UCLA came this close to blowing their home court advantage.

Say what you want about the refs, but A&M lost because of their own mistakes and missing free throws down the stretch. They were a 9 seed basically playing @ UCLA and had final possession to win the game. I really dont think they could ask for more.

I don't know how you got at blaming the refs when you led 36-26 with 18 minutes left and then scored 13 points the rest of the game. You can't just stop scoring points against a really good team and expect to win (49 overall, 20 in the 2nd), and A&M went 3-7 when they did go the line and that's not exactly great anyways.

That "offensive foul" was definitely a bad call, I didn't see anything else that blatantly awful though. Bottom line is you have to seal the deal, they didn't execute at all on offense at the end and they let Collison go right by them twice in the clutch.

I just noticed the final score of last nights game is listed as UCLA 53 and Texas A&M 49. Ummm why? The dunk was clearly after the buzzer, and a quick youtube search of it proved that my memory is correct. Are there any gambling consequences that would cause them to count that basket for no reason? I know it doesn't matter in the result of who won, but that's still ridiculous.

I'm leaning towards them not being swayed by gambling, which gives them a it really doesn't matter defense.

Yeah, it was clearly after the buzzer. I doubt that there were gambling consequences, because I have to believe UCLA was favored by more than 4, but it's pretty ridiculous that they included that dunk in the final score.

The officials have the official time, there could have been an issue with the stadium scoreboard. Rare, but possible.

Odd, the officials had waived it off. CBS switched the score from 51 to 53, but immediatly switched back to 51.

Last shot of the game. UCLA should build a shrine and worship referees for all their help this year.

By the way, there was an article in the Sun-Times about the UCLA score and the basket was indeed waived off by the officials. The official score is back to 51-49.

I love me some Joe Alexander.

Too many ticky tack fouls. Let em play!
