Soxtalk Softball Part II

Featured Replies

Well we had been trying to organize the rematch with WSI for the softball game we played with them last year, but they have officially wimped out now. The question to the general posting public is such...

Is there enough interest in a softball game on Soxtalk to get two teams together to play an internal game, followed by tailgating and a patio party? The two dates we are eyeing are July 19 vs KC or Aug 23 vs TB. Both are saturday nite games, which gives us time to play an early afternoon softball game.

Who all is interested? The possibility of including friends or coworkers to make this happen is also something we are open to if need be.

I will say Iam definetly interested in doing it but I have 0 confidence in any other soxtalkers coming through on this.

I'd be interested. I'd assume wives could join to watch the game and attend the patio party, correct, or is it guy's day out?

They can even play if we have enough space. Anyone is welcome to attend. It was a great time last year, and we are hoping for a bigger response.

I would really like it if we could get a big gathering for this. Hell, I'm 1,000 miles away and I made it last year, so you Wisconsin/Illinois/Indiana folks, get off your lazy ass and make it!! :D

Seriously, it was a blast, and I think that you won't be sorry if you could attend.

Well, we did it last year, and we kicked their asses (WSI).

I would be in, again.

I am very, very disappointed that WSI wimped out.

Count me in.

Let's get something done!

The team pictures don't even begin to tell the story how much fun last year's game was.

I could probably make the trip from Iowa for the July 19th one. This would be 16 inch, right? We only got 12 inch out here.

im definetly game my fiance will come to (please dont let her play no matter what she says unless you want to lose) :gosox3:

I wish i could seeing as im good at softball but sadly i wouldnt have the money

I'm in. I have been unable to play the past few years, due to scheduling conflicts. I am definitely in for this year.

This is Chicago. We play 16".

Do you guys need an umpire? I could play or umpire if necessary.

Figured as much :lolhitting (although I have played 12" in Chicago before). I love 16"

If you guys get the date early enough and we know its going on, I'll book Friday off of work and make a vacation out of it (haven't been to Chicago in over two years now).

Who cares if you are 17? You can outrun the rest of the old men out there. :headbang

August 23rd is a no go for me as that's my 21st and I'll be back at school. The July date I'd prolly be down for though.

Its free for the softball game, and if you want to do a patio party, you would have to pay for that.

As long as your parents don't care, and you have transportation, that's fine.

What's the damage on the patio party?
