My name is old fashioned, as I figured.

Kenneth was in the Top 20 1924 through 1964 (I didn't check every year in between, though). In 1985, when I was born, it had dropped to 47. Now it's at the 135th position.

How the hell can Oscar, Cody, COLTON, or Liam be more popular?

Also, here's a George Carlin bit on names. Sorry Kyle haha.

You cant win em all

Some of you may be interested in browsing this website. http://www.ssa.gov/cgi-bin/popularnames.cgi

You're not cool unless your name is in the 100's.

Huh...my name has become less and less popular as the years go by since I was born. That's not saying much for my personality, is it? I mean, I could very well be the reason for it becoming so un-desirable. When I was born it was the 66th most popular name. Now it ranks at 450. I must REALLY suck.

Why didn't you guys list my name, Runelvys?

I'm an other.

You're not Jacob I hope then.

I'm an "other" also.

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Jul 8, 2008 -> 05:04 PM)
Sometimes it isnt lack of originality on the parents part as much as it is honoring other family members, carrying on a first name in the family, etc.

Besides, i have seen some truly horrid "original" names. Im glad my parents didnt mess around and start pasting letters together or combining their own first names.

My kids' class roster is full of "original" names or even more "original" spelling of common names. Every year, my wife and I look forward to getting the list and looking at the names on the list. My daughter has a friend named Alexis, but it's spelled Alexyz. X-Y-Z!????

I'm an other as well.

I'm an other. No, not Robin. :)

My middle name is listed up there.

I have an unusual name--but I'm told it's a very popular name in Greece.

I really hated having an unusual name when I was younger--but I think it's something you grow into.

Forgive me for not including Jason on this list. :)

Yeah I don't know what you were thinkin when you put John up there PA.

For the past 100 years my name has been no lower than 31 hitting #1 in 1960 and was in the top 10 from 1937 to 1991 where it has hoovered in the mid to upper teens for the last 17 years.

I am the most interesting man alive.

My name has never been higher than 5 and never lower than 16 for any year on record...kinda odd

Ben. Highest ranking was 43 in 1889 and hasn't been back in double digits since 1911. currently sitting at 610. I'm happy with my name...There aren't too many of us roaming around.

That name's hot.

Mine was pretty darn high the year I was born (1983). Now it is much less popular (guess I give my name a bad reputation).

I feel the same way. When I was younger I hated having an unusual name. Days with substitute teachers were dreaded. As I got older I began to like it though. I was able to go through life being easily associated with only three letters so that helps with people knowing and remembering you.

f*** tucker, tucker sucks

mines dan, my mom won the battle...my dad wanted an italian name and i was pretty close to either being vito or rocco
