Javy in game one. f***.

I just talked to my friend and he mentioned that. I told that's not possible, MB would go for sure. Javy sucks, but I guess he's the guy that's ready.

No matter what happens for the rest of the games this year, I'm just so happy! I've written this team off soooo many times, and for them to come back is just awesome. Good luck in Tampa!!!!

I hope you learned your lesson young man. It's not over till it's over ! :P

I can't stop typing in this little box. I

Game 1 isn't as big as game 2 or 3...

I just got home. That stadium was so intense. It was awesome. GO SOX!!!!!!

Lets get another Ring! :gosox1: :gosox2:

Dealing with the most ridiculous sox fans in games threads that just talked the s word about the sox the entire damn time. And I have to say it is probably sweeter for the former. I know some people deal with some things differently but my God, it was awful.

There's something about this year that seems to make everyone less rational than ever. Hawk is the test case. I swear he has been losing his mind more than i can recall in recent years.

Just something really infuriating about this team but a night like this is probably sweeter because of it.

Question: I live in the northwest part of the city, where the hell can I pick up some merchandise tomorrow?

You know, I hate to put a damper on this, but there were two aspects to the last two weeks:

dealing with some awesome sox fans who kept my hopes up and weren't actively rooting against them

and two

It is pretty bad and it used to keep me out of game threads , but I learned to adjust. I know they all care very very much and most are very young and haven't learned when to ease up. It's just crimes of passion but they are very passionate Sox fans for sure and for that I love them man !

F**K YES!!!!!!! JOHNNY DANKS, YES!!!!!! JIM THOME, YES!!!!!!! GEORGE KENNETH GRIFFEY JR., YES!!!!! BRIAN ANDERSON, YES!!!!! BOBBY JENKS, YES!!!!!

Now let's go to Tampa and show everybody that we deserve to be here! Already being counted out of that series. Our starters have been f***ing SOLID the last few games. Only one thing, the Rays have basically nobody with playoff experience (I can only think of Tory Percival and possibly Eric Hinske).

Who's gonna start in the Rays series for us? Is Javy going to be knocked out of the rotation for this series?

I had it wrong all along. After the Twins series I thought we were the chokers, when really, they existed the series with .5 a game lead against us and were facing the Royals.

It almost feels more fulfilling with this division championship because of what we went through, and the fact it was played at home and many fans will have good memories of tonight.

Great job !

Very intense game. It wasn't what people thought it was going to be, a pitching duel that would decide the game with the mistake being done by one of starter's. All I can say is that this is very nice after getting swept in that dreaded Humphrey Dome. They (Twins) are a completely different team when they are on the road. It's as if they are clueless when they are not playing on turf.

It's sweet to see the champagne going all over the place. Geez . . . what a feeling. :cheers

SOX WIN SOX WIN

I don't go into chat very often but Fathom invited people after the Twinkies swept us. I remember saying every time the Twins got a hold of 1st place they gave it right back . I think you were there .

I actually thought of that...it was as if they loved playing as the underdog but couldn't stand being the team expected to win. Too many young guys and they just went into defense mode. The only time they ever played very well was when they were behind the Sox. Both teams had the ability to put the other away several times, and neither did until tonight.

Let's get Thome and Griff the rings both deserve.

Awesome win, awesome job by Danks, that was unreal! What an up and down year!

Have they given an estimated distance on Thome's homer yet?

Wow!!! Just got home. What an amazing game. Best one I've been to since game 4 in Houston.

Danks, AJ, Griff, and Thome coming through!!!

that was, far and away, the best experience i've ever had at a sox game.

461 ft. according to one of the guy's on WGN

Brian Anderson. f***. What a catch.

Danks was just dealing, goddamn...

On a total side note, I REALLY enjoyed Dick Stockton doing PBP for baseball. To quote Christmas Story, "he was in good voice tonight"

Not just because we won, but that was a great, great baseball game. Guys on both sides went at it 110% and almost flawlessly. One mistake, one bomb, ballgame.

Random thoughts:

Perhaps he was stunned from the collision, but AJ showing Cuddyer the ball instead of the ump was bad ass and hilarious. :lolhitting

How far did Jimmy's bomb travel? Almost made the fan deck, or no?

Part of it might have been the 'black out', but why do the stands at the Cell look so dark on TV? It doesn't happen on Comcast or WGN, or even WCIU, but on the national networks they always do.

Bring on Tampa, I like our head to head stats. I still don't believe in them, they're gonna have to show me.

I saw the game on TBS-HD. Now that was a playoff game! What an experience and what a run by the Sox. three games, 3 wins against 3 different teams at the end of the season to win this Division. That is a major league record and never done before.
