Is anyone a bit worried about how bad fields looks most of the time? I'm hoping its just a slump, but he hasn't exactly lit the world on fire since his hot start.

Extremely worried, especially since a lot of his hits have been flares to right field. Just look at his swing. Not only does he still have the hole in it on anything towards the inner part (fastballs), but he has a ridiculous follow-through. Batting him 2nd was beyond idiotic if it's lead to him changing his style.

Why is Lillibridge in the lineup and why is he hitting second?

Strong 2 pitch AB for Lillibridge. One thing to watch as the year goes on is if Getz can stop flying out weakly to LF. He makes far too many outs on that same swing, and Hawk is getting very upset with it.

Shouldn't Ramirez be hitting second?

(1) More fastballs hitting in front of Quentin; and

(2) If Getz is on, it might get him focused on going to right field, instead of trying to pull every pitch.

Note to Sox hitters: Pavano throws a changeup

That would make a whole lot more sense than Lillibridge. Of course, we've had a terrible fastball hitter batting 2nd most of the season.

Boy why can't we seem to get a Grady Sizemore??

The thing with Fields is that he doesn't really even have a big swing. He just has really slow reflexes, so he can't hit a fastball and balls skid past him at 3rd regularly.

Gavin get your s*** together !

Ugh, Gavin looking like 2009 Gavin so far. No command of his fastball, and then gets forced to throw it over the plate and gets hit hard. We look flatter than the Olsen Twins yet again.

Gavin is paving his road to Ozzie's doghouse.

Hell of a play by Getz to get one...Alexei unfortunately couldn't turn the DP for some odd reason.

Getz with some great range.

That's ridiculous by Ramirez. That needs to be turned.

Gavin has no ability at all to get first pitch strike this year.

Trailing 1-0 already....can we at least play an entertaining game and not be out of it by the 5th?

Gavin looks like he has regressed back to the scared lil boy out there.

Gavin is plain scared right now to throw any strikes.

He's replacing Javy for the ability to hang lousy breaking pitches to left-handed hitters. These pitches are creamed.

His footwork at SS is comical

I am still trying to figure out why Ozzie won't move Alexei out to CF and have Nix play SS....

And not ha-ha comical either.

Gavin's Done.

First pitch Ball all night = early trip to the showers.

Get your s*** together already, Floyd.
