Peavy Rejects Sox Offer; Deal Now Dead

Seriously, the Padres could be interested in Lillibridge as a final piece of the package (to go along with a big time PTBNL).

Petco would be PERFECT for Lillibridge...

/sarcasm.

That's good to hear. Linebrink is very conservative, and if he can stand Ozzie, then Peavy should be able to also. I think it's funny that Peavy would have even considered Ozzie to be difficult to play with, as he's nothing but great with veterans.

We may have overpaid Scott, maybe not, but he's trying his damndest to help us both pitching and selling.

That'd just be a win-win right there. Gain Peavy and officially never see Lillibridge playing CF and batting 2nd for the Sox ever again?

Maybe they could let him hit from second base.

The lillicurse could be lifted and all would be well with the world again.

Did anyone call out the naysayers on the 1st few pages of this thread yet? If he waives his NTC there should be a few apologies and a few courses of crow served.

He was willing to play in the NL central. I think teams in the NL Central have tougher line ups than the AL central.

I'd cheer my heart out for the little scamp in Petco.

Escobar, Morel, Gilmore....

Edit: Actually, I remember reading about Gilmore after the Vazquez trade and he reminded me a lot of Vitters.

I forgot about Escobar. He's very toolsy I've heard, and he can stick at SS. Perhaps he is one of the PTBNL.

OK i JUST realized how SICK that makes our rotation (pending Floyd remembering he's a pitcher)

Peavy

Buehrle

Danks

Floyd

Colon

I'm sure this has been talked about in the past 30 pages, but DAMN, that's pretty sick.

Kenny should mention that we will be moving our fences back 5 feet next season..which I would love to see.

I can live with those guys leaving, but I really want to keep Hudson.

Has anyone gone to church and lit a candle yet?

Just ask Peavy how far he wants them moved back....I'm sure we can accomodate!

*slowly unzips pants*

AMazing what can happen, if it happens, so fast.

Was at work at 6 and a guy came up and asked if I heard about it. I doubted him but as the day went on, it snowballed. Unreal.

Under contract til 2012, correct?

I agree about Hudson. You'd hate to lose someone like him, even in a trade for Peavy.

One guy I forgot about, what about Shelby?
