May 21, 200916 yr Seriously, the Padres could be interested in Lillibridge as a final piece of the package (to go along with a big time PTBNL).

May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (fathom @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:05 AM) That's good to hear. Linebrink is very conservative, and if he can stand Ozzie, then Peavy should be able to also. I think it's funny that Peavy would have even considered Ozzie to be difficult to play with, as he's nothing but great with veterans. We may have overpaid Scott, maybe not, but he's trying his damndest to help us both pitching and selling.

That'd just be a win-win right there. Gain Peavy and officially never see Lillibridge playing CF and batting 2nd for the Sox ever again?

May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:07 AM) Petco would be PERFECT for Lillibridge... /sarcasm. Maybe they could let him hit from second base.

May 21, 200916 yr Did anyone call out the naysayers on the 1st few pages of this thread yet? If he waives his NTC there should be a few apologies and a few courses of crow served.
May 21, 200916 yr He was willing to play in the NL central. I think teams in the NL Central have tougher line ups than the AL central.

May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:03 AM) Escobar, Morel, Gilmore.... Edit: Actually, I remember reading about Gilmore after the Vazquez trade and he reminded me a lot of Vitters. I forgot about Escobar. He's very toolsy I've heard, and he can stick at SS. Perhaps he is one of the PTBNL.
May 21, 200916 yr OK i JUST realized how SICK that makes our rotation (pending Floyd remembering he's a pitcher) Peavy Buehrle Danks Floyd Colon I'm sure this has been talked about in the past 30 pages, but DAMN, that's pretty sick.
May 21, 200916 yr Kenny should mention that we will be moving our fences back 5 feet next season..which I would love to see.

May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 21, 2009 -> 11:10 AM) Kenny should mention that we will be moving our fences back 5 feet next season..which I would love to see. Really?
May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 21, 2009 -> 09:10 AM) Kenny should mention that we will be moving our fences back 5 feet next season..which I would love to see. Just ask Peavy how far he wants them moved back....I'm sure we can accomodate!
May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:12 AM) Really? It's not happening but I wish it were.
May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (bschmaranz @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) Has anyone gone to church and lit a candle yet? if that would actually help I would walk over to Old St pats right now.
May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (fattyguy78 @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:14 AM) according to rotoworld they seem to think he will waive his no trade clause *slowly unzips pants*
May 21, 200916 yr AMazing what can happen, if it happens, so fast. Was at work at 6 and a guy came up and asked if I heard about it. I doubted him but as the day went on, it snowballed. Unreal. Under contract til 2012, correct?
May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (bigruss22 @ May 21, 2009 -> 10:10 AM) I can live with those guys leaving, but I really want to keep Hudson. I agree about Hudson. You'd hate to lose someone like him, even in a trade for Peavy. One guy I forgot about, what about Shelby?
May 21, 200916 yr QUOTE (BigSqwert @ May 21, 2009 -> 09:15 AM) *slowly unzips pants* hold on a minute....not quite time for a circle jerk here
May 21, 200916 yr It sounds like Brinkey did everything we could of asked of him in that call to Jake.
