they said during the game that if it was a tie toronto owns the tiebreaker

Yup, so if the Bulls get these records, this would have to go down for the Bulls to get in.

Bulls go 0-2, Toronto would have to go 0-2.

Bulls go 1-1, Toronto would have to go 1-1.

Bulls go 2-0, Toronto's out.

Odds are, the Raptors aren't going to win both games.

yeah im hoping boston and charlotte rests their players the final two games

Boston's still fighting for 3rd spot so I doubt they'll be resting anyone.

I hope you can knock em off though.

Bulls would basically be in had they not blown that game Friday night. I still think the odds are against them getting in right now considering the schedules, but who knows with how badly Toronto is playing.

Yep, because as it stands the Bulls are 1 up. So if they end up tied, it goes to Toronto.

If the Bulls win their next game, and Toronto loses, the Bulls clinch/are in no matter what both teams do their last games.

Yeah, the Bulls magic # would be two.

I hate that people are actually rooting for the Bulls.

I also hate that I'm forced to root against them for the better good of the franchise. Hooray for first round sweeps at the hands of LBJ and co.

How is the Bulls missing the playoffs for the better good of the franchise?

And what does that mean anyway?

How is missing the playoffs better? We don't even get the benefit of a better pick.

Huh? Do you not know how the lottery works?

1.Bulls in playoffs = draft pick to Bucks

2.Bulls miss playoffs = Bulls get lottery pick and get to keep it if its in the top 10.

I'll take option 2 over a first round embarrassment anytime.

You do realize the only way the Bulls get to keep their pick in either case is if the Bulls ball comes up 1,2, or 3?

The chances for the Bulls to get those picks from the 11th spot are, in order: 0.008 0.009 0.012.

The Bulls would have a 0.3% chance of not having Milwaukee swap picks.

Yeah the Bulls are screwed either way in terms of that draft pick.

You'd have to say the Bucks definitely won that trade. Yes, Salmons wasn't working in Chicago, but he's been argubly Milwaukee's best player alongside Bogut since they got him.

Touche sir. I'd still take those odds over a sweep anyway

Wrong again. The pick is top ten protected. As long as the Bulls get the #10 or higher pick in the draft, they keep it.

I think they could only get 1,2,3 or 11. The lottery is only for the top three picks not all 11. Not sure how far the bulls are from getting 10 though. Also how much better is Milwaukee's pick than the Bulls? We also saw the ability of Salmons last year when he came in and was great and then sucked this year. That was a good trade for the Bulls.

Check out the table on this link.

The 13th seed has a 96% chance of getting that 13th selection, and then miniscule chances of getting the 1st, 2nd or 3rd. They can get anything in b/w 4 and 12.

Yeah I stand corrected, didn't realize it was only the top picks. But in that case, what a stupid ass draft system anyway.

I would like you to meet Derrick Rose.

I'm already preparing myself for the Knicks to magically win the lottery, draft John Wall, and sign Lebron/Bosh.

Indeed. Even more magical than the Bulls getting Rose and leaving Beasley to the Heat. :crying

Exactly. The chances are miniscule. Heck the Bulls probably have a better chance of beating the Cavs than the do of getting the #1 pick.

I don't see the "fix" on that draft though. Yeah it helped bring chicago back, but if Stern really wanted to create something, wouldn't he have tried to pair Wade + Rose?

Unless they're going to win the title this year, I'll take the draft pick not matter what the odds. This offseason is a 1 in a million, and I'd rather take my odds with another miracle that lands us Turner to help persuade a big time FA.
