Bruno was ok. Couple of hilarious moments but most of it was so-so.

On another note, the preview for District 9 looked absolutely badass. Now that's the kind of tone Transformers should have taken. Maybe I would have seen it if it did.

Nine does look neat but Tim Burton always seems to dissapoint me.

How many more of these "computers/robots taking over the civilization" movies do we need? I saw the same preview fittingly before Terminator: Salvation.

Bruno was OK, thought it was better than Borat, although that may change with another viewing of Borat if I ever get around to seeing it again.

I could've done without the talking pee hole. The swinger scene was pretty hot, but that blonde whipping scene was boring and obviously rehearsed.

EDIT: Just realized you were talking about the Peter Jackson movie. Not the animated film coming out on September 9th.

Burton produces, but Shane Acker directs the movie. I wouldnt worry about the movie direction because he is involved

Peter jackson also does did not direct district 9 or write it... soley produces. First time writer and director (big screen) neill blomkamp is the one is charge.

I was wondering what the heck you two were talking about with Tim Burton. :)

Watching the "District 9" viral videos is cool, it reminds me of some of the propoganda "shorts" you would see on Starship Troopers.

oh god.... Starship Troopers. Denise Richards barely made that movie somewhat watchable.

Richard Roeper says the movie of the year is a film called "The Hurt Locker". About a guy addicted to war in Iraq. It's playing in Evanston. I may have to go see it on my day off.

Do you think you'd watch it a second time? Give it a shot, tell me what you think.

I already sent it back to Netflix. And even if I owned it, I probably wouldn't watch it again for at least a year. That's not a knock against the movie. I just don't watch movies numerous times unless I think it's one of the greatest movies ever or a really good comedy.

Just watched the trailer for "The Hurt Locker". I really want to see this now.

saw the movie about a week ago. with no knowledge on how different ranks of the armed forces operate, I'd say the movie was really good. I've read some reviews from people who were actually in the EOD and some state the situations depicted aren't possible or played out correctly....nevertheless it still is a good movie, and I liked it. 7.5/10

Im actually curious if both Marvel and DC will allow Reynolds to play both Deadpool and The Green Lantern. I have to imagine one of the companies would jump in and ask him to choose

Anyone seen "Whatever Works" yet?

A day late and a dollar short, I'm currently watching the Kite Runner. Pretty darn good so far.

I thought he was also tapped to play The Flash if they ever get that production off the ground. I guess I could see Reynolds as a decent Barry Allen or Wally West, but I just don't see a lot of Hal Jordan in him.

Hal had more of an edge to him, no?

si.

Reynolds' characters are just too goofball for me to see him convincingly as a man born without fear.

Plus, I can't see Hal giving a villain The Goat or The Batwing when the chips are down.

District 9 looks like it will be fantasmic.

Indeed. A must see for me.

District 9 looks like it has the potential to be one of the worst movies ever made or really awesome. I dont think there will be an in between,it will be one extreme or the other.

Just saw The Hangover this past weekend. Hard to explain...I haven't laughed that hard for that long at a movie since Team America, yet, the movie wasn't all that good. Is that weird? I think the lines were hysterical, but the movie was kinda, lacking...

You were entertained. That's all that matters.

That's true. Maybe it was built up so much and we haven't seen a movie in the theater since The Dark Knight, maybe I was expecting too much. I think I need to see it again.

But I'll tell you what...great cast.
