Washington Times: Sox fan = dumbest fan of the year

He wasn't even close to that ball. Every fan goes for a ball hit by them. It's pure instinct.

That's why blaming Bartman is f***ing stupid. Everybody around him got up and tried to go for that ball. Turns out he was the only one who actually touched it. Nobody around him got any s*** about it.

My thing about Bartman is how do his actions, which had minimal impact on the game at best, explain the 8 runs that followed? And the loss in Game 7? These things are completely glossed over every time.

This writer is a terrible person.

Probably a terrible writer though. They say a good writer will never write about something he hasn't experienced first hand. Obviously, anyone who has sat out by that section of U.S. Cellular knows the seats are a good four feet away from the fence. That challenges his credibility.

Had the Cubs not made such a big deal out of it in the first place, they probably wouldn't have lost that game.

Alou even admitted later that he couldn't of caught that ball.

It definitely took the Cubs' focus out of the game. That's their fault.

Washington writer rips fan = bad

Soxtalk posters rip Buerhle for hunting = OK

A woman next to him went for it, then pointed at him after he touched it.

Alex Gonazalez's glove made of stone has no emotions, so the media couldn't sensationalize it's emotion and make it out to be the bad guy.

(you mean Alex Gonzalez is a person, and that part of the reason the Cubs brought him over was his defense?)

That article was horrible, even for the Times' standards.

Apples to oranges, Bartman ( if you want to make an excuse for a Cub team that choked ) killed a team's chance of possibly going to the WS. This guy would've killed one player's shot a at a perfect game. Not nearly the same thing.

However, just for fun, let's say the guy had reached way over and made the catch. What would you be thinking right now?

My God, this man has 9 foot arms and the Bulls have a couple open roster spots.

Exactly, wouldn't have been a huge deal. Apples to oranges.

I'd be thinking more like "wow Dhalsim from Street Fighter is a real person?"
