simply having Wise in RF shows how much having a good defense helps. i really hope we stack our defense during the offseason.

defense wins games

Wise killed that AB by swinging at ball three. I wish he would have just sat there with the bat on his shoulder until strike two.

Great game Torres

A GREAT f***ing game for Carlos Torres

Be the same pitcher you are thornton

+1...I never got the hatred towards Wise here

He's not an offensive threat but he's a good outfielder

The 25th man always gets attacked mercilessly, which makes no sense because every team has to have a 25th man. very rarely is that guy particularly great with the bat. There should be no surprises in that regard.

Meanwhile when guys who are supposed to perform dont...that seems to get a truckload of excuses for as long as possible.

If adjusting for what shouldve been expected of each, Quentin had a worse year than Wise.

+1, he should realize that he has a better chance at walking than actually making solid contact.

Awesome game Torres!

I don't want to see either Dotel,Pena or Linebrink anywhere near this game...Matty and Jenksy please

Problem is that our "25th man" was put in the starting lineup way too often the past 2 seasons.

Most hitters aren't going to square up Guzman. But in a situation where he couldn't find the strike zone with GPS, why help him out?

i miss brian daubach!

thornton is just an outstanding pitcher.

I thought Torres was s***ty according to some ST posters..

Wow Thorton.

Also would like to see a couple of runs added here so we can

BRING IN DJ!!!!

I think DJ and Thorton are locks going forward as far as consistentcy is concerned, which along with Jenks is about all you can ask for.
