Balta1701
Ok, I think most of the other big awards have obvious winners, or at least 1-2 dominant candidates. I'm not so sure about the AL MVP, although I know who I'd vote for. Who do you think earned it?
Kalapse
Joe Mauer. There is no other choice.

ThunderBolt
Joe Mauer With Power. No, not Matt Wieters. Joe Mauer.
Felix
Mauer should be the only one with votes. There is no logical case that can be made for any other player in the AL. Edited October 5, 2009 by Felix
ThunderBolt
QUOTE (Felix @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 05:32 PM) Mauer should be the only one with votes. There is no logical case that can be made for any other player in the AL. I could make a faint, distant case for Ben Zobrist, but it would be beyond a stretch. The award should be Mauer's. Felix
He actually had the highest WAR in baseball, tied with Pujols. His defense was pretty damn good at 2B and RF, but it's still tough to make a case for him over Mauer.

WilliamTell
QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Oct 5, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Mauer for sure-any Yankee ineligible because of their field I don't agree totally with the Yankee Stadium argument. Mauer's splits are a lot better at home as well. Mauer AB R HR RBI AVG OPS Home 241 56 16 53 .386 1.105 Away 278 38 12 43 .345 .959 Jeter AB R HR RBI AVG OPS Home 311 57 13 40 .331 .908 Away 323 50 5 26 .337 .836 Edited October 5, 2009 by WilliamTell
Jordan4life_2007
Longoria was my early season favorite. But it's damn near impossible to argue against Mauer. And the fact that he missed the first month makes his season even more amazing. It's not as open an shut a case as the NL MVP. But it's close.
