Anyone have a good recommendation for photo management software? I was a big Picassa user because I loved that it took all of my photos and video, arranged in a horribly unorganized folder/file system, into a central place where everything was saved chronologically. Now that Google stopped supporting Picassa, it's giving me more and more issues and become nearly unusable.

I have tens of thousands of photos, camcorder videos, gopro videos, etc. I just want a central place to look at my photos on a timeline that also doesn't require me to upload 1tb or more of data to the cloud.

I actually really like Google Photos.

I have 1 TB worth of data though so that's not a good solution. I can't believe they stopped working with Picassa. It was such a great program.

The rendering chipset is going bad. It'd probably require a logic board replacement...I had this happen to my Vizio about a year ago -- I called them and played kinda stupid on the phone...they replaced my TV for free and it was out of warranty.

The service tech came with some parts, opened up the back of the TV, and determined hee couldn't fix it with those parts. The actual screen itself is messed up. He said it is possible to repair it, but now it's up to Costco whether or not it's cost efficient for the warranty. It's a 60 inch TV so might be worth the labor, who knows. Now I wait 2-3 business days until Costco gets back to me.

I swear, nothing feels better than seeing someone use an app that you helped build out. Especially when they love it.

Which app?

SSO is the best part of my job, it actually creates visible value to our users/customers. You don't get that much in IT Security.

That Domino's app needs to be scaled to modern resolutions...those bars are soooooooooooooooo big. I do use it, though. Well...I did...I haven't had pizza in like 2 months.

It's more behind the scenes on that one. Its incredibly complex given the many different ordering systems that exist, but I tie it all together with OAuth and OIDC to make it all appear as one.

To give everyone the closure you have been just waiting for (or not), Costco decided not to repair my TV. I took it back to the store, they give me a gift card for what I originally paid for it, picked out a newer model and had $100 left over. Pretty painless experience getting everything taken care of, definitely makes me lean towards Costco for other big purchases in the future.

Jinxed my BT sport headphones. When I pulled out the charger the entire piece from inside the headphones came with it. A few years for 25 bucks was pretty great and the batter life was still amazing, but apparently all good things must end.

My cheapies lasted awhile as well until recently. Got the Beats3 wireless and it's life altering. I forget I have them in my ears sometimes. Comfortable and I don't have to keep pushing them back in every 30 secs.

Costco's return policy is incredible. I've returned humidifiers without boxes years after purchase and they just take them.

I got mine on Amazon for $150, shipped from Beats, and came with a $30 credit for itunes, so basically $120. Very worth it to me.

Got a pair at costco, yeah they rule so far. I dont know if they will be worth the price long term but the sound is great and the integration with the iphone is pretty cool.

Comcast sports net chicago is on slingtv now...along with Fox sports 1, nbc sports, nfl tv, and more if you get the $5 sports add on. And tomorrow, t mobile customers can get a year of mlb tv again.

Sports is no longer a struggle for me since cutting the cord. In fact, it's now perfect for my viewing habits.

Perfect.I just purchased an Amazon Fire Stick. My brother has one and has the Kodi app where you can watch every TV show on any channel and any movie including ones in theaters so once I get the fire stick, I'm cancelling Hulu and Netflix as it is unnecessary with the $40 firestick. I only really have cable for sports now.

Jesus, phones are expensive. Just pre-ordered two Galaxy S8+ phones for my wife and I. $1,850 with tax, not including the two $100 promotions i'm going to order (they provide a free bluetooth headset that is normally $150 and a 256gb memory card that is normally $150. I don't need the headset but the big memory card is worth it.)

Got them on a buy one, get one free promotion, so that number is slightly smaller. But still, it'll end up being about $1200-$1300 for two phones. I guess given the amount of time you spend using a phone these days that's money well spent. But it's a tough pill to swallow when i've literally never spent more than a penny on a cell phone. They've either been free or one cent through Amazon.

My s4 crapped out, so I ordered the s7 Edge. The day it arrived, I saw a commercial for the s8 which I didn't realize was coming out. I didn't have time to wait and only paid $300, but it was still a WTF, funny timing.

The S8's hardware looks great. I contemplated ordering one. Then I remembered Samsung's crap software goes to a crawl after a few months like Windows Vista. I hope Samsung at least pioneered the industry for new screen technology and design. Because the S8 is a gorgeous piece of hardware.

My wife and I are still using Note 3's from 5 years ago. This thing is so fast in comparison. Even if it slows down a decent amount it's still going to be a massive upgrade. And my God, that display. The minimal bezel is so nice.

I just hope the batteries don't blow up. We did the same pre-order routine last fall with the Note 7. The day after I submitted the order they stopped sales.

Android rots bad enough without bloatware. Samsung still has the least forgivable software lag. Add to that the ridiculously high price.

Android folks who want a phone as good should order themselves a OnePlus 3T and use the extra $300 for something else.

I remember when phones were one penny. You could make calls on them and if you were lucky, you could send texts as well.

Considering phones today can do many things a laptop or desktop can I don't think they are *that* over-priced. Anyone remember what $1200 bought you 30+ years ago?

$1000 might get you 2MB of RAM and a 16MB HD.
