So.... no iPhone 5 exclusivity to Sprint, huh?

At this stage in the game, I think Apple has far too much power over the wireless carriers to bother with an exclusive contract anymore. The carriers have realized customers will choose a device over a network, and if that device is Apple, their is going to be far too much money pouring into the coffers of Apple for them to optimize sales via an exclusive contract.

Giving the iPhone to AT&T happened solely because other carriers were showing little interest. AT&T was willing to take a gamble on Apple, but only with the consideration of exclusivity. It was a gamble that paid off handsomely.

Which one? Ice Cream Sandwich?

Yes. A good friend of mine works for google and he's one of the people selected to test the OS. Only played with it for a few minutes though so I don't really know all of the changes.

Anyone know if iphone 4 owners will be eligible for early upgrade?

Sprint's site is pretty much acting like DNS right now.

Is this it?

No. He was running ICS on a Nexus S.

I meant the look of the OS, not the actual phone.

Oh. I didn't realize that was a video. I thought it was a picture. :bang

And yes. That looks like what I tried out.

Oh that makes me excited :)

I used to know a guy who worked in the cell phone area at Motorola's headquarters (Schaumburg). I'm wishing I still knew him. I'd love to get to play with prototypes.

I know you're not an apple guy, but honestly, the iPhone 4 really isn't outdated yet. No reason to rush it into the background quite yet.

I'm probably one of the biggest Apple dorks here, and I had very little interest in this device.

I'm actually sorta relieved. I figured that this would be the conference where mine went obviously out of date. I see zero reason to upgrade.

Maybe sometime in the future? There have been a lot of "Parts" rumors regarding the iPhone5 that don't appear here. Maybe they just couldn't get the hardware together for it (Japan Earthquake?)

CUPERTINO, CA—During a highly anticipated media event held today at the Apple corporation’s world headquarters, CEO Tim Cook announced the new iPhone 4S is good and people should buy it. “It’s a good phone,” said Cook, walking out onto a stage and gesturing at a picture of the device projected on a large screen behind him. "It's got e-mail, the Internet, and you can get apps on it. Everybody should get one. It's good." After standing in place for another four seconds without speaking, Cook walked off stage, at which point the houselights came up and all in attendance were asked to please file out of the auditorium

Netflix just stopped working on my Sony GoogleTV. Worked fine on that TV last night, works fine on my Xbox but on the TV itself I can get to the browsing menus but I can't actually select anything. Damn technology.

I've tried that, tried resetting the whole thing too. Everything else works fine.

Im sure most people in this thread are also "tech support" for their families and friends like I am, and I always tell them before you even call me unplug and plug the thing back in and see what happens.

My first question I always ask: "is it plugged in? Yes? Ok, now on to question 2...."

Do you guys work for Comcast's tech support? That's about all the "support" they can give.

TV/Netflix mysteriously works fine this morning.
