March 31, 201016 yr QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 09:27 PM) and FWIW, Fransisco Liriano was pretty much named the #5 starter for the Twins this year. There had been talk of him in the closer role. His first start of the season will be in Chicago I hear (and you can tell by his spring numbers) that he's been pretty dominant to this point. I figure 2010 will make or break if he's ever able to realize the massive potential he had back in '06.

March 31, 201016 yr I saw this happen on TV at the gym but didn't know who it was other than a woman in an Denard Span jersey. Denard Span hits his own mother in the chest with a foul ball in the first inning today.
March 31, 201016 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 12:35 PM) I saw this happen on TV at the gym but didn't know who it was other than a woman in an Denard Span jersey. Denard Span hits his own mother in the chest with a foul ball in the first inning today. My god.. The odds of that ever happening alone are a million to one. That is crazy.
March 31, 201016 yr QUOTE (Jenks Heat @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 10:06 AM) Well we know when Vizquel will lead off and DH. There was a time when I thought Sowers might have been something, a lesser Mark Buehrle maybe. But that never panned out... Edited March 31, 201016 yr by chw42
March 31, 201016 yr QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 06:04 PM) Do you think Twins have the best lineup in MLB? Buster Olney does. PS: Video. Buster Olney has had a hard on for the Twins ever since he started at ESPN. The guy always picks the Twins so I'm not surprised he says they have the best lineup.
March 31, 201016 yr QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 03:49 PM) Buster Olney has had a hard on for the Twins ever since he started at ESPN. The guy always picks the Twins so I'm not surprised he says they have the best lineup. The only better way to establish a reputation for picking the right team over the last decade has been to pick the Yankees.

April 1, 201016 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Sowers cleared waivers and was outrighted to AAA. The fact that NO ONE took a chance on him tells you everything you need to know about how far he has fallen.
April 1, 201016 yr QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 31, 2010 -> 01:32 PM) Indians put former top 10 pick Jeremy Sowers on waivers. He led the AL in ERA the second half of 2006. Hard to believe how far he has fallen.
April 1, 201016 yr Just turned on ESPN and saw Thome destroy a pitch to deep center. As you might expect this made me feel great. Edited April 1, 201016 yr by Thunderbolt
April 2, 201016 yr QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 11:28 AM) Just turned on ESPN and saw Thome destroy a pitch to deep center. As you might expect this made me feel great. I caught that at lunch as well. That thing was a no doubter. It was the first time I've seen him in a Twins uni and it didn't feel right. I don't like that feeling... first seeing Crede and now big Jim!?
