Olympics: Vancouver 2010 OFFICIAL THREAD

NBC's coverage really pisses me off sometimes. There is Men's Aerials going on live right now and we are watching a medal ceremony, figure skaters with no chance to medal and a piece on logging. Awesome.

Really amazing that you can not medal in an event for 86 years and then dominate it the way the US did this Olympics. And Spillane and Demong are only 29 so they could definitely be back for 2014 if they want to.

Nice "scandal" they're trying to create with the Canadian women's hockey team.

So if I get this right: they're in trouble for drinking beer and smoking cigars on the ice of an EMPTY ARENA when nothing was televised because "that's not the image we want to portray". Again, EMPTY arena other than event staff and media. Not one impressionable corruptible child to be found in the entire arena.

Also, NOT ONE WORD of outrage over the champagne they were drinking on the ice, in uniform, at the time of The Great Beer and Cigar Scandal of 2010.

Why is that? Because champagne is the accepted beverage of celebrations, and beer isn't?

Sounds like a whole lot of nothing to me.

Good for them, I know if I won Olympic gold, they'd have to fight to keep my pants on me.

is the game on the radio this afternoon?

Wow this game couldn't have started much better.

Kiprusoff should have thrown it at the boards.

Parise must be eating what Rafalski is eating lately. 2-0 USA. :)

Kane x 2!

6-0 USA, this is amazing.

This would be an insane score if it were late in the third. There is still 5 minutes left in the first.

This is unreal.

Wow. And I thought Canada's performance against Russia the other night was some kind of statement!

And watch out for Finland...I'm just saying.

I'm watching...and laughing.

This Olympics, again, is something that hockey needs to capitalize on, because, suddenly, more average people care.

So it looks like (though we still have 2 periods to play) it's gonna a Blackhawk (Kane) against at LEAST 2 Blackhawks for the gold. (Hossa/Kopecky or Keith/Seabrook/Toews) Gonna be fun to watch.

gotta love this USA team. And especially Ryan Miller, this guy has been money throughout!
