July 7, 201015 yr QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 6, 2010 -> 07:20 PM) We've never competed in the east and we could easily do so after this summer, even with missing out on the top 3. If Bosh/Wade go to Miami and Lebron goes back to Cleveland, what team in the east is gonna be dominant? Phil gets his 4th 3 peat. So it wont matter what happens in the East.
I couldn't say for sure until we see how everything plays out. That includes where the lower-tier free agents end up and whatever trades come about. But I can say with certainty that even with one of Booze/Lee that Orlando, Boston, Cleveland and Atlanta would be better than us. And I don't think Miami would resign Wade and sign Bosh and then fill our the roster with 10 Adam Keefe's. The bottom-line is we wouldn't be a legitimate contender. Best case scenario would be 2007. Win 48-52 games and eventually get bounced by a better team in the second round. Edited July 7, 201015 yr by Jordan4life
July 7, 201015 yr Boston and Atlanta would be highly debatable, but this is all pointless until it's over, guess I'll continue slitting my wrists at the thought of missing out on Wade/LBJ/Bosh.

Thing is I'm not even mad at management. From everything I've seen/read they've done their part. Chicago just is not the sexy destination that you would think it would be. The MJ factor hasn't meant a damn thing as far as attracting marquee free agents (Ben Wallace doesn't count). Maybe we don't have enough history. We weren't s*** before MJ and haven't been s*** since. Maybe guys aren't sold on Chicago to produce a winner. Edited July 7, 201015 yr by Jordan4life
July 7, 201015 yr Author Not that this is new or that he's contributed anything to this process, but oh what the hey. Chris_Broussard Bosh has not softened stance on Cleveland at all. Looks like he won't be a Cav. I win by not linking it.

He was really quite solid in the 2nd half of his rookie campaign.

I honestly can't even get mad at management in any way, what more could you possibly ask from them? Nothing. I just don't even know what to say at this point. I'm so f***ing tired of all of this bulls*** that I just want it to go away. I don't want to sit on twitter and realgm and blogabull and read every little snippet about all of these guys. If we strike out, I will have a hard time understanding why. I don't know why Lebron would resign in Cleveland, I understand the home/loyalty angle but c'mon Bron, you aren't winning s*** there.

And the extra year and 30 million is not even that big a deal in this case. As Lebron could be Jordan-like as far as off the court income in Chicago compared to Cleveland. But I always said that I won't get on Lebron if he ultimately decides his heart is in Cleveland and he wants to stay. But to completely whiff? That would be an utter embarrassment.

The thing with whiffing is what can you do? Say LBJ and Wade both return to their teams, and Bosh follows Wade (A. because him and Wade are lovers, and B. because he wants the extra year and Toronto won't S&T with us), then what could the Bulls really do in that situation?

Nothing. The Bulls have played this flawlessly as far as I have seen. It's not like baseball where you can ultimately flash more green to pursued players.

You're right. I'm just saying. This would be the second time in a decade that this has happened. It's one thing if we were the Kansas City Bulls. But whatever. I know this much. This franchise is going to have to build through the draft and hopefully strike gold in a trade or two. I don't ever want to go through this crap again with free agency. f*** free agency for eternity.
July 7, 201015 yr If the Bulls know they're whiffing in free agency is there anyway the Hinrich trade doesn't go down?

No. Jerry Reinsdorf will never renege on a deal. Doesn't matter if it's not completed or signed or whatever. If he's agreed to it, he'll won't go back on it. Edited July 7, 201015 yr by scenario

July 7, 201015 yr I talked to 3 people over the weekend who know Wade and all of them said the interest is very much genuine. Obviously far from a shocker, but it was nice to hear. One said the Bulls were at the top of the list.
