My god the pressure on Paulino.

Philadelphia sports fans aren't allowed to complain about anything for the next 3 years.

PERFECT GAME!

Got it. Mercy

This year's is going to be the tightest CY race in years.

HEy, the Hawks just tied the Flyers up!

Thought Paulino had a hit, especially with Castro guarding the line.

Thought Paulino's was going to sneak through. Nice play by Juan Castro

Too soft, too soft.

I did too.

How many no-hitters have there been since Buehrle threw his perfect game (not counting Braden)? I can think of Jimenez but hasn't there been another?

Yeah that pace just makes no sense... awesome

All against Florida teams.

It loses some luster though, when it happens this often.

I am surprised it took Halladay this long to get a no-hitter/perfecto.

Congrats to Halladay. But I must say, and this is kinda shocking, the no-hitter/perfect game is losing a little bit of luster. They're occurring at a crazy rate the last few years. I think will see a few more before we see another 20 K game.

At one point in time (and maybe it's still true) I believe there had been more no-hitters thrown in MLB history than players hitting for the cycle.

Yes indeed it is. There may even be less cycles than perfect games - I can't recall which it is, no-hitters or perfect games that the cycle is more rare than.

Congrats to Halladay on the feat, but in all honesty, the Perfect Game and No Hitter are only going to become more and more common.

With the home run being the main focus on offense and all the hitters with open stances trying to pull the ball now, it's getting easier for good pitchers. If you noticed, the pitchers who have gotten the perfect games aren't the ones with electric stuff but rather the pitchers who know how to pitch, don't throw anything straight, change speeds, etc... all the things that are like kryptonite to players who try to hit home runs and pull the ball.
