Roy Halladay throws a perfect game!

Featured Replies

289 different times a cycle has been hit for... 247 of those have come since the modern era which began in 1900. There have officially been 265 no-hitters thrown... 223 of which have come since the modern era. Only 20 perfect games have been thrown in baseball history... 18 of those since the modern era. There was once a 33 year gap between perfect games for a reason.

These guys are just trying to make Buehrle feel mediocre.

Obviously this doesn't diminish Buehrle's performance, but man, it really felt special when Mark threw his perfect game. It's starting to feel almost commonplace now, haha.

After watching the entire 27 outs, I feel like Halladay might have gotten a couple of calls. But still, great accomplishment.

Mark's performance is probably still first of all the past three.

Mark pitched against the Rays in a very hitter friendly park with a pretty bad defense.

Braden did it against a better Rays team, but he also pitched it in one of the pitcher friendly ballparks with a very good OF behind him.

I'd say Buehrle's was a little more impressive.

Sanchez, then buehrle, then Jimenez, then Braden, then Halladay

I think Sanchez would've had a perfect game had Juan Uribe not committed an error if I remember right.

Rowand saved a homer though, shortly after that.

Ok but how does that diminish anything from Sanchez? I know you havent forgotten about Wise.

Yes it wasnt a perfect game because of something Sanchez couldnt control but Sanchez did have 5 more K's and he did it in 6 less pitches than MB. That's pretty dominant right there.

I am surprised it took Halladay this long to get a no-hitter/perfecto.

I wouldn't be surprised if he threw another one this year.

I remember watching Mussina almost pitch his vs. Boston. He was getting like 5 inches off the plate. It was ridiculous.
