Hawk simply goes silent after every Beckham at bat.

I used to get so excited every time he came to the plate. That kid could make things happen.

It's not only good pitches with ripples that trouble Beckham (as they do most mlb players), he's even missing hangers.

What's terrible is, it's not as if we could have known that from college because, how many good pitchers with decent curveballs/sliders did he face?

Colvin makes Stoney look smart.

It troubles me that Walker thinks Beckham's problems are mental. Last year, he struck me as a guy who didn't let struggles get him down. In fact, he used to rib Q about that.

He would kill most hangers last year...remember his bomb against Lackey? I've noticed though that both Beckham and Quentin really struggle with high curve, no matter how bad the pitch is.

Colvin hits the ball so hard every time I watch him. I'd like to see Thornton face Fukudome.

Great outing by Peavy.

Great job by Peavy pitching around the meaningless 2 out double.

Thornton is up.

That's silly, as it's not like he's going to face hitters 2-5 for them. If he's going to warm up, bring him in to face Fukudome.

And Peavy says, "Cubs fans, go f*** yourselves".

Hell of an effort Peavy! Just make sure not to pitch Linebrink in the 8th.

oh please, Tribune will report after the game he was cheering for the Cubs even while he was pitching.

Ozzie has never been confused with a great strategic manager.

Have I mentioned how inconvenient afternoon baseball is yet today?

Good outing from Peavy.

Are you saying Thornton is only going to pitch against lefties? Some people want him to close. Uh he'll face a lot of righties as a closer.

Quentin in to PH.

Patrick Kane is at the game. Shaved his "beard" too.

BOMB.

TCQ...A BOMB!!!

QUENITIN!!!! BOMB
