Sox vs Atlanta 6-23 game thread 7:05 first pitch, CSN

Featured Replies

Mariano just pitched a scoreless inning in the bottom of the 9th of a tied game in Arizona. Just before going to break Mark Grace says: "that right there folks, is a closer".

Oh and then Curtis Granderson un-tied the game in the top of the 10th because the D-Backs are a total f***ign mess.

Well, you'd hope he would. Putz is definitely the better choice for the closing role seeing as how he actually has a plus pitch. Bobby's curve is not what it used to be but Putz can still make the best of hitters look silly with the splitty.

You definitely fooled me here. That was a long statement that I was hooked by.

As far as tie games, I just think Jenks has sucked in enough of those that there is a pattern and on those nights I might first go with Putz or Thornton. But if that is vital that closers do that some nights, then yes Oz will have to trot Bobby out in tie games again.

Ozzie's getting into a rut. It's a successful rut so far, but it's very predictable.
