July 8, 201015 yr Let's hope for the best. Hudson comes on to go 10-0 to bring the sox into the playoffs and then goes 4-0 in the playoffs as we go on to win the World Series! He's Superman! He can do ANYTHING!!! Edited July 8, 201015 yr by hi8is
July 8, 201015 yr Author QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 08:07 AM) That is a great graphic you made...but are you drunk? I'm just being sarcastic. I've only been drunk once in 4 years. =) Thanks for the complement btw.
July 8, 201015 yr After seeing what the team did after your we are not out of it thread this thread excites me.
July 8, 201015 yr I'm hoping that Hud The Stud can be at least as good as Freddy or Buehrle have been.

July 8, 201015 yr On a serious note, I'm really excited for Hudson, not that I'm happy about the circumstances.
July 8, 201015 yr QUOTE (MattZakrowski @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 01:27 PM) On a serious note, I'm really excited for Hudson, not that I'm happy about the circumstances. Agreed.
July 8, 201015 yr Marquez was recalled, not Hudson. Does this suggest a greater likelihood of Hudson being involved in a trade? I think it just may.
July 8, 201015 yr QUOTE (Pale Sox @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:00 PM) Marquez was recalled, not Hudson. Does this suggest a greater likelihood of Hudson being involved in a trade? I think it just may. No, he is just covering for Pena being unavailable this weekend. I mean, sure maybe it was a "Let's call up Marquez, so incase we trade Hudson, we will, or we will just bring Hudson up Sunday and let Marquez cover for Pena this weekend"
July 8, 201015 yr QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jul 8, 2010 -> 06:15 PM) Its just for long relief after Pena was stretched on Tuesday Yep. It's good roster management. Bring up the reliever until you need the starter. Then swap them out. Gives you more coverage out of one roster spot. Edited July 8, 201015 yr by scenario
July 9, 201015 yr Could someone help me out? I'm looking for some realistic info on Hudson? What should I mostly watch for when he pitches. What are his main pitches. How is his command? Does he have good movement on his fastball. What is his out pitch? Changeup, Hard slider, late breaking curve/ cutter? Is he a good "first Strike" pitcher. How is he on strike out / walk ratio? Can he throw any one of his pitches in any count. I hear a lot of hype on this guy not only from Chicago, but other places as well (MLB network etc) Lastly, are the expectations REAL on this guy, or a possible "wanna be hopeful". Remember, we once had Feilx Diaz who wa s 10-1 with a 1.85 ERA. Came up, gave up 10 runs to the Yankees, and now he's pitching in Japan. That hype ended in a heartbeat! I know it's a lot of questions, but if he is going to fill the rotaion for maybe the rest of the year, I just want to know what to mainly look for, even if it takes him a little time to get acclaimated to his new career dream, and him getting his head settled in when it comes time to filling some Really Big Shoes with the Peavy loss. Thanks!
July 9, 201015 yr Where were you when he pitched last year? I don't have any scouting info, but his K:BB has been excellent in the minors. It was not very good during his brief run in the majors last year. Any prospect is a potential flame-out, but he should be good.

Thanks! Is this greg???? Felix Diaz beat the Cubs in one of his first starts, so easy on him. He never faced the Yanks either.

I thought it was him. I do remember that there was some big hype minor leaguer that was brought up and got trounced by the Yanks. I think that buehrle was supposd to pitch and they put him in instead. Can't remember who it was. I thought that it was Diaz. Guess not!

It was not very good during his brief run in the majors last year. Any prospect is a potential flame-out, but he should be good. During the times that he pitched, I never got to see him much. The reason for all the questions is that I know that on this board that there some that are really up to speed on upcoming prspects. Just trying to get a better idea as to know what to look for, and how he executes things according to the info that is on him. That's all. No Biggie!

Maybe next time, before I post, I better check my facts, an not rely on my brain. through WIKIPEDIA, I found who I was thinking about Muñoz made his major league debut in 2004 for the Chicago White Sox in a start against the Montreal Expos.[1] It was a disaster: Munoz allowed eleven runs in three innings -- nine in the second inning alone -- for the worst major-league debut for a pitcher since at least the last half-century
July 9, 201015 yr If all goes well, Hudson will be in our rotation for a long long time. He is a special pitcher and I can't wait for him to impress everyone! Give him a chance people, you will not be dissappointed.

Thanks! Just google "scouting report on Dan Hudson" . You'll find tons of good stuff.
