When are these being posted?

They're not. Knightni just collects lists and we oblige him when we have nothing better to do. :)

Next Monday.

Hopefully sooner because I wanna start some actual discussion on the lists.

It'll be interesting after the countdown is complete seeing everyone's lists. I have quite a few movies that many wouldn't consider in their top 100, but they're among my favorites because they're entertaining more than being legitimately scary.

I'm going to try and start counting up stuff after work tonight.

The first chance that I will have to start the list will be Tuesday.

Does that mean I can still submit a list?

Yes. Please hurry.

Is this happening?

Horror comedies are lame.

No more discussions so far?

Two of mine have made the list so far. I almost added Army of Darkness, but I ended up just including The Evil Dead. Although a horror movie, Army of Darkness is a bit more comedy. Regardless, Sam Raimi is a genius.

By the way, did anyone catch the Evil Dead-esque scene in Spiderman 2?

Very nice touch :notworthy my hat is off to you

I'd be interested in reading from those that like the genre, what makes a great horror movie? The scared teenagers getting slashed just doesn't seem that difficult of a genre, perhaps that's why we have all the copy cat stuff.

It seems that horror and comedies just never receive any respect.

I'm suprised that Return of the Living Dead made the list. I love that movie.

I thought Creepshow would be ranked a little higher.

The Biography channel had a cool documentary on Nightmare on Elm Street last night. I think they're doing Halloween this Monday night.

I agree. And that's why I thought Scream was such a good movie. It definitely poked fun at the genre while actually being a pretty scary movie at the same time.
