White Sox Sign Dunn

Featured Replies

If we can get Dunn at 3 years $40 million, I'd be pretty happy.

You might not be getting as good of defense at 1B compared to PK, but the offensive production should make up for it. Ideally, I'd like to have both, but I don't think that's a very real scenario at this point.

DLee is done.

Done how? Check out his stats after he left the Cubs

Eh, he was pretty damn solid after the AS break last season. Add that to his + glove and if you can get him at some sort of a discount, he'd be a very nice signing.

He had a nice 2009 season. He played hurt last year, and should be fairly cheap. He knows the city and Ozzie from the Marlin days. It makes so much sense it probably won't happen.

i'd love to see both PK and Dunn in there, taking turns at DH/1B, power left and right.

Rios

Dunn

Lee

Derrek Lee would be great as as #5 hitter in this lineup.

Check out his Cub stats post all star break as well, even better.

Say goodbye to starting pitching for that to be the case

Then you have Quentin after that who's at least good for a .350 wOBA. Now if only he can not play RF...

And improve our IF defense.

He also has a good relationship with KW and Oz

You know Quentin has averaged 31 hrs the past 3 years...not bad...keep him the hell off the field though.

Only way that can happen is if you either put Dunn in RF, or drop one of Lee and Dunn.

I like it. But he comes with a TON of GIDPs

He'll fit right in then.

The only thing I've heard is Sox are desperate to try and get Dunn to make a decision before Angels are done chasing Crawford and Soriano. Everything still points to Konerko going elsewhere though.

If you can get Dunn signed, then Konerko becomes an unnecessary luxury for this team. We don't need two veteran 1B/DH types past this season, since Viciedo should ready for a full-time role in 2012.

Even if we could somehow afford both of them, I'd rather spread the money available to Konerko across 1B/DH, C, and RP. I think this team is stronger and deeper with DLee, A.J., and random free agent reliever over Konerko, Flowers, and random White Sox minor league reliever.

So when do the internal server errors begin?

No way Dunn is signing for less than 4 years.

50 guests reading right now? Thats never good.

Pretty sure Oney reads Soxtalk and he is responding to me with his last tweet :P

What'd he say?

Alright, KW. Bring him the hell in.

If Dunn is signed and the Sox go out and grab D.Lee, how many other holes are there? Closer? Another bullpen arm?

Dunn + Lee would be awesome. Give Dunn $12 million per year and Lee $5 million + incentives for one year. I would accept losing AJ if we gain both those. With Morel at third, we would have arguably the top defensive infield in baseball.

At least 1 bullpen arm, possibly more, along with catcher.

My work network always kicks me out, so I don't sign in. I'm probably not alone.

Catcher. And some people would say RF as well as Quentin really shouldn't be out there but I'm sure we're going to have to live with him if Dunn/Lee are signed.
