Nothing much we don't already know. Farm sucks. Trade prospects like they're set to expire. Don't spend on the draft. Yeah, 'bout covers it.

Danks and Flowers took quite a fall (and deservedly so), and Morel and Escobar shot up the charts.

Danks certainly deserved to fall like a rock, don't really think Flower should have dropped out of the top 10 though.

I hate how Phil Rogers does the chat every year. Can't someone from BA actually do it?

He shouldn't be compiling the list period. Phil Rogers is horrible.

I think you underestimate how bad his year was and how old he is now. Deciding Flowers is no longer a legit prospect is a very defensible position. Few players with his K rate make it in the majors.

Yeah that too. It's like BA is just dismissing the system entirely because it's so bad.

Phil Rogers did this list. That should tell you what you need to know.

It was only a year ago many were talking about Adrian Gonzalez to the White Sox with guys like Jordan Danks and Tyler Flowers as some of the bait.

How much different would your top 10 look? I'd rather have a scout or a team of scouts compile the list, but I think they wouldn't be too different from what Phil has put on paper. But it is one reason I always take a BA list with a grain of salt. Writers make the list, not people who watch these guys every day.

We are literally just about to release our Top 25 as well. We'll post it here and on the FS ChicagoNow site.

Flowers' stock clearly slipped this year, but he still hit for good power and walked at a good rate. I could see bumping him out of the top 10 if you've got a deep system, but when you're bumping him for a 24 year old middle reliever who's just hit double-A, I'm not sure it's defensible.

looking at that list is just another reminder why Kenny Williams needs to go bye-bye.

all the confetti from 2005 has been swept up.

Time for new leadership that understands the value of player development.

He's gutted our system with impulsive trades and one of his buddies is about to go to trial for skimming bonus money.

What more does The Chairman need to see?

Brian Anderson was awfully nice to release this list of top prospects for us.

I do agree with this, the fact Carter made the top 10 is a joke. However, Baseball America tends to overrate players that participate on international teams, and Carter had a big write-up a few weeks ago about his inclusion on Team USA.

Rogers is really down on Mitchell in this report and I surmise that he believes his speed and potential will NEVER come back just because he struggled in the AFL, seems way to over critical at this point......

I don't know what the ultimate prognosis is, but if Mitchell has permanently lost a step or two, it is pretty huge. Phil has to quit crying about the Sox "cash grab" going to Las Vegas to play games and having Mitchell hurt in a game he probably wouldn't have played. He was injured playing baseball. That is what he is paid to do. Isn't the idea to get as much experience for young players as possible? Freak injuries happen. Hopefully Mitchell can overcome this. The AFL was a disaster for him, but he hadn't played at all for a while, so give him a break on that. If he's still slowed during spring training and during the season next year and isn't hitting, then its probably panic time.

The AFL wasn't a disaster for him, he played in it.
