University of Notre Dame, you are a f***ing joke. We already knew that, but you showed it even more today.

There will be more of this for this guy until he hopefully ends up in jail. Good for him. Also LOL on the kids.

Many parts of the south are just so strange, and Alabama certainly falls into that group. I'm not surprised by anything involved in that story.

I'm also not surprised by Notre Dame being a joke. Hands covered in blood, and you pretend it was just a tragic accident that nobody could have seen coming. Way to go.

Taylor Graham from Wheaton had a good spring game. He and Braxton Miller look to be the two favorites to start.

Enjoyed our spring game today, we should have another good team in DeKalb this year. I also think Chandler Harnish is the best non-BCS QB in the nation other than Kellen Moore. Such a good player.

Lol espn.

"breaking news on Ohio state and Jim Tressel, new allegations, and th FBI is involved. Let's bring in the writer from the dispatch"

"actually nothing new, the self reported allegations were confirmed by the NCAA, and the FBI phone call was actually a conversation unrelated with a players parent"

"oh. Well here's some spring game action"

The most important part here...

Yet he did not notify Smith or Ohio State president E. Gordon Gee, anyone else in the athletic department, the NCAA compliance department, or anyone in the university's legal department. Instead, he forwarded the email to Jeannette, Pa., businessman Ted Sarniak, a friend and mentor to star quarterback Terrelle Pryor, who was subsequently discovered to be one of the players involved with Rife.

Tressel knew exactly what he was doing. All of that homer crap about not knowing, or it being an accident is a giant load. He's as crooked as anyone else.

Duh, which is why they self reported that he lied. If they are considered a repeat offender because of bball they could be in some serious trouble. If not, the suspension may stand.

Basically no new information. Crooked as anyone else is very subjective. Paying for players, personally giving out benefits and contributing to the death of a employee could be considered worse than not reporting players selling their own property. Either way, I've heard much worse rumors than anyone has reported yet. And its involving the players.

Also, rumors on many premium rivals forums (including bucknuts, but was since taken down) that Ohio States basketball program is about to get busted. According to the writers, on a scale of 1-10 of how bad the violations are, it is said to be a 10.

These rumors about a BIG finding that would be happening in spring/summer are starting to come out... Doesn't look good for OSU.

Well technically the football findings showed that the University was not at fault for the compliance violations so most of the penalties if any are going to be directed at Tressel.

this is about the basketball program... and the rumors are about point shaving, and a lot of it. We'll see what comes of it, but the ESPN guys have been talking about a huge story in the works for a while.

I dont see that anywhere, care to point me in the right direction?

It was posted on the bucknuts pay forum by one of the main writers and later taken down. Some of it has popped up on the purdue pay forum and IUs. Like I said, sounds like the story won't break yet, and its all speculation that its OSU. Regardless, sounds bad for whoever it is.

I googled, looks like it started on a PSU forum. Point shaving is usually just one kid, as evidenced by Toledo a year or so ago. Maybe someone got confused with SDSU.

Yeah, still cant find anything anywhere, I saw it may have started by Bukibill's post on Bucknuts, that guy is a grade A turdbag.

I am however hearing that Tressel will be stepping down as coach sooner rather than later and that they are already discussing his successor.

Maybe that will give him more time to write a book about winning at life. LMFAO.

Nebraska kicked out of the AAU today, showing that the N really does stand for knowledge.

Well played. We can finally put to rest the notion that academics played any part at all in the Big Ten thing. It was, and always was, 100% about football and having a championship game.

Love how Perlman's reasons that Nebraska was at a disadvantage describe ISU too (land grant, no medical school, etc.) but our crappy ag school is still good enough.

But yeah, we knew that. f*** em.

So why does every hate Nebraska so much? I'm assuming there's more to it than just hating conference rivals.

Well, the fact they almost dropped a few of our schools into irrelevance is a good starter.

Hahaha. Go there and find out. I'm sure we'll be hearing from the Big Ten fans here within a few years with experiences to share.

Before I get into the bitterness, their passion for football (and most other sports not named basketball) is spectacular and the stadium is impressive for its size alone. It's a trip worth making just to check it out (though I was more blown away by OU) and Lincoln is a fairly large town with a nice downtown. You don't feel like you're in the sticks other than the residents.

The problem is that they will let you know that they are the most passionate fans when really they're just among a somewhat large group of big schools with dedicated fan bases and they get violent when they lose. The self-proclaimed classiest fans in America (or whatever they call themselves) are no different from any other. I remember going there in 2008 when Mizzou's NFL-talent filled offense whipped their defense back when it was one of the worst in the country and the stadium was half empty in the third quarter. I remember getting constantly harassed by Husker fans after the game when we went to get some late night food downtown. I liken them to Notre Dame without the religion (I'm not saying that's better or worse, just different).

Just saw on SC that Boise has some major violations reporting the dreaded "lack of institutional control". They said it involves more than just the football team though.

I would hope that most Nebraska fans will know their place in the Big 10.

If not I guess were going to have to show them. :D

Boise State has self-imposed sanctions on its football program as it faces NCAA allegations charging the school's athletic program with a lack of institutional control.

The NCAA brought the charges after finding 22 violations, including a major violation in women's tennis and minor violations in football and three other sports, according to a report made public by the school and the NCAA on Monday.

The Broncos will have at least three fewer preseason practices before their game against Georgia on Sept. 3, according to documents obtained by The Idaho Statesman.

The school also will have three fewer scholarships to give over the next two years, and three fewer practices before the season opener against Michigan State in 2012 as well, according to the report.

The NCAA can accept these punishments or dole out stiffer penalties following its Committee on Infractions meeting June 10.

The violations range from coaches organizing low-cost summer housing and transportation for potential Bronco football players to tennis and track and field athletes getting meals and housing in violation of NCAA rules.

At least they didn't get no-hit yesterday.
