It seems like I know more Wisconsin people (in their 20s-30s) that are Sox fans as opposed to Brewers. Is this a representative sample? Northwest Indiana of course has Sox leanings. Now I am jewish so I can say this, and we joke about it all the time. That if you look at any place where you stereotypically see jewish retirement communities, usually warm areas, you will find your sox/cubs/bears fans. In fact a lot of general Chicago transplants find their ways to warmer areas so it holds all around, but LA, SD, Pheonix area, South Fla, Tampa/St, Pete, etc all usually have droves of Chicago faithful. And obviously there's the mutual rivalry with the Cubs..... but for some reason it seems like St Louis (and the Illinois side which I'm more familiar with) have this anti-Chicago thing that takes precedence over everything else. Before, you could be in a room full of White Sox fans and have no idea, and I have definitely seen quite a few more Sox fans since that point in time. There's even a guy a few streets over who has a Sox flag on a pole in his front yard. Another family dresses their kids up in Sox and Bears gear every Halloween (and they know they get bonus treats from our house when they come by). I think the look attracts people in general including gang members, and rap fans, but most wearing the Sox stuff are not necessarilly White Sox or even MLB fans. Most was the Cubs followed by the Twins. Then the Cardinals and White Sox were close to each other for third. It was pretty impressed with the amount of White Sox fans. The Brewers had a good number and even the Royals had some fans. It was fun talking to the Royals fans and I give them props for wearing Royals gear. Cuz I only remember meeting 2 sox fans while I lived in Ann Arbor, and I met them both during the 2005 WS in the place that's on top of Good Time Charlie's. I see a few here and there and it's usually pretty obvious when somebody is wearing a White Sox hat just because of the fashion and some guy who is wearing it because he's a baseball fan. When I went to a Sox-Mariners game last summer there was a smattering of Sox fans. I'm sure that's true in any road game ballpark, but at a Mariners game at this particular time when the Mariners suck and the crowd is pretty quiet the cheering fans for the road team are pretty evident.
