Its being talked about on Twitter, but I haven't seen anyone actually report it there yet.

what!

Peavy: issues have popped up. Shuttin down.

CONFIRMED.

With Peavy due to start on April 6th, they can afford to push him back to next weekend.

Maybe minor league games on the 26th and 31st. Then be ready for April 6 at KC.

The story has broke as shoulder problems unrelated to his surgery. Not many details out there as of yet.

Good news for Humber, probably.

Peavy, rotator cuff tendinitis, Peavy says Thursday start still possible.

Rongey on the Score...same thing...Thursday not ruled out.

I guess Peavy used the "shut down" phrase, but not accurate.

Peavy said first felt it after angels start, discomfort gradually increased after each start

Dangit Dangit Dangit. We need him healthy!

That was the knock on Peavy when KW acquired him, that hes was "Injury Prone", I believe for whatever reasons he definatly is and always will be.

Any chance this is exactly the SETBACK doctors warned us about?

I'm happy that Peavy hasn't had a blip until now, but wouldn't have made more sense just to give the three starts (4/9, 4/19, 4/24) to Humber, and have Peavy start his season on April 29th at home?

I'm not saying that's what they should do now, but from the get-go, just plan for him to come back at the end of April.

Ugh. Just as the it sounds like he's gonna be 100%, something else pops up. Great.

Peavy tells me he's "not going to be a hero and pitch hurt" and that he won't pitch until he's as healthy as he can be #whitesox

If anything now, they should push his first start back to April 9th. They don't need a 5th starter until then.

It's a good thing Jake spoke up about this. Perhaps he shouldn't have started yesterday. He might have over-exerted himself since he hadn't thrown on the side all week.

If Peavy does not start Thursday in Mesa, he won't be ready for Opening Day or that first fifth starter opening in KC on April 6

A healthy Jake Peavy seems to be something of a myth.

So....do they start stretching out Humber? (Sale seems less likely). Who now lands in the pen if Peavy starts on the DL?

I think Kinney will make the team. It's really hard to have a lot of faith in Peavy being 100% anytime soon.
