Matt Holiday just recently had a similar problem, but he DID NOT end up going on DL, so I guess it could be worse.

Do that for a couple games (like today where there's a LHP on the mound) and if there's a RHP on the mound, Teahen to 1b and Konerko to DH.

This is lame. Hopefully he only misses 5 games, but either way he misses the opening series and all the home fan adoration.

Here's a tribune confirmation (also including the at least 5 days number) in case anyone was doubting.

TCQ may have the testicular fortitude to remove his own appendix but he would probably slip on it on the way to first, jack up his foot again, and miss the rest of the season. I think he is made of paper-mâché.

This early in the season? I could see towards the middle of the season, but not this early. Konerko probably wants to get in a rhythm and start the year off right.
